Still not sure I get this as we seem overloaded with 6s even after the Baker, Laurent and Johnson departures. For most Championship teams Lawal, Pearson, Sidibe, Thompson and Burger would be more than adequate - if anything we should be shifting one of those to bring in another 8.

It just seems to be another underwhelming signing. 26 years old, so realistically is not going to develop either physically or technically an awful lot more and never played outside Japan in a league that is completely different (far less physical) to ours and arguably of lower quality. Add to that he's not even an automatic starter for a side towards the bottom of that division. Then you have the logistical issues such as will be able to adapt to our culture? Or can he speak/understand English? I can understand us taking the gamble when it's a young player who has the potential to develop (such as Bae, who has shown glimpses but will need to develop more physically and with his decision making in and around the box), but to go all out for someone with a very Average track record with minimal sell on value just doesn't make much sense, and doesn't fill me with much excitement or any realistic expectations that he will be an upgrade, or even at a similar level to what we already have, even though what we have in midfield at the moment is bang average at very best. Move on, save the Arseache and Air-Fare Stoke, and go balls out for someone who can offer some physicality, pace and power through the middle. Realistically you CAN be taught new skills and improve physically at 26 yrs of age! You can also be taught English at ANY age! Even Gary Lineker learned Spanish at the age of 26 when he signed for Barca and he also went to Japan several years later and did similar. |

Probably back up / competition for Thompson (or Pearson when he’s fit). We do need someone a bit better than Thompson in there, for all his effort etc, he lacks quality on the ball. A bit of a gamble this one but I’m all for it

A bit of a gamble this one but I’m all for it Yeah I was hopeful Thompson would improve even more because occasionally he pulled off beautiful hits with his left peg but it's not consistent enough. I like him but he should be an option when we want to keep things tight and not the #1 defensive midfielder. |

With his number of games, how good can he be? He has no international games and soon 27 years old. I don't see this as a wise signing.

The club obviously see something about him they like or feel he is suited to this league. Nobody knows how it will turn out so it's a case of judging him after he has played a fair amount of games for us |
