We are in the enviable position of starting a new era owning are own ground with our own training facilities, something we didn’t have when Bet365 took over, and in the unbelievable posistion of being dept free. We will escape possible sanctions because of the formal ties to a gambling company and will be able to negotiate the Sponsorship of the ground and club shirts, this is a very astute piece of business because indirectly we are still being financed by Bet365 because of Jon being a major shareholder.

Going forward not sure - but standing and looking in the direction of the Bristol area, and watching a certain sad act fume as he realises that Bet365 have paid 80M for a stadium and just handed it back to the club for free will be priceless. didn’t the Madrid council once buy Real’s training site for 250mil the sell back to them for a pound , or is that an urban myth ?? Clearly utter bollox rather than an urban myth as they have never ever used pounds as a currency in Spain! BM

Feels like a smart and proactive way of putting some legal distance between us and Bet365 whilst the scrutiny on betting investment intensifies in the next few years.
John loves the club and even if some of the footballing decisions haven't worked out. I've got no reason to doubt this isn't another smart business decision that will benefit us off the pitch.

I think the most important thing from all of this is we might have to retire this photo..if John is now fully at the helm...

Back to the Britannia would be nice... Will always be the Brit to me The victoria Ground. Yes yes yes. Dont mind the Britannia Stadium. Bet365 Stadium sucks. It's not the Victoria ground though and never will be sadly.

No Derby were in trouble for selling their ground to the owner for a hugely inflated price, way above what it should have been valued at. so us selling it to bet365 for a considerable sum and then just getting it given back isn’t dodgy lol 😂 It would seem unusual but nothing illegal. Bet 365 paid the going rate for it own it completely so can do whatever they like with it. The reason it doesn't happen very often is that a) it is now against the rules for owners to buy the ground and b) most owners are there to try to make money so wouldn't give the ground back for nothing.

Best name for the stadium in my opinion would be The Victoria Ground. Totally neutral and historic. How much is Victoria willing to pay?? The closest you’re likely to get would be The Victoria Ground sponsored by XXXXX. Secret

Definitely think a new stadium name would be good.
I still call it The Brit.
Maybe the New Vic or the Stan Siro. 😏

They just keep happening upon cheap tracts of land that very quickly become highly prized because the council approve a development on them.

Why does this sad twat think he knows more about legal, finances and Football League rules than the army of accountants, lawyers and consultants that Stoke Holdings / Bet365 can afford to employ? Its almost laughable.

Just wouldn't feel right calling this the victoria ground, I think that should be left for our glorious former home along with it's memories. I could see a potential with the New Victoria ground, but I'd still fee a bit dirty calling it that. It will always be the Britannia stadium to me, hope we can find a way to reinstate it
