We’d have sacked Hughes when we should have! Or replaced him with a good manager when we did eventually sack him. Or kept him for another six months. We chose literally the worst possible option

What if ... Notts Co and us formed the league 20 years earlier. We would have had at least 10 titles to our name by 1888 and every good player would have wanted to play for us from then on. Manchester Who?

What if Van Ginkel didn’t hit the post? I'm 33, and this is by far the biggest 'what if' in my years as a supporter. To be there that night, win at Anfield and still lose will never leave me.

What if that Notts County player didn’t handball a certain goal on the goal line in our FA Cup Quarter Final in 1891, resulting in the invention of the penalty kick? 😮

The Butler Street Stand roof hadn’t blown off and the club were properly insured.

Sat in the garden today and my mind starting wandering, and I started to think about a Stoke related “What if…” What if Bojan had not got injured? What’s your Stoke related “what if…” that you think about? Not this old chestnut. The Bojan myth 🙄 He was every bit the player he was when he came back from injury. If not stronger ! He wasn’t used enough by certain people ! For whatever reason.

In the club's history, it seems like we could've won a lot if WWII hadn't happened, and that could've completely changed not only our trajectory, but that of many other clubs we would've beaten instead.
In my supporting lifetime, it'd be Oular(s)é for a positive.
There are so many negatives, it's difficult to single out one, but it has to be something that reflects our recent demise...
What if Imbula had lived up to his potential? I think he was good enough that the slide could've been prevented. We still had a good squad of players when he was signed.

What if Ryan Shawcross didn't injure his back away at Leicester in 2016?
I reckon we would have qualified for Europe.

Had so many broken legs in 1974-75.
Cloughie took the Stoke job after Waddo 1977.

If we had gone up in 92 as we should have, imo we would have the extra cash to give Bertie a new deal, with him and Stein we would have gone straight through to the pl in 93

It has to be the stand blowing off. We were on the verge of winning the title in the mid/late 70’s!

Had so many broken legs in 1974-75. Cloughie took the Stoke job after Waddo 1977. 4 broken legs and 2 long term injuries, so six major players out when we had a squad of 20ish pros, and we were still only a couple of points off winning the title. Best team in England at the time!

We really screwed up towards the end of that season, some really inexplicably poor home results killed us.
