There is a clear divide on who were JDs signings and who were SS and ANs. The problem was interference from the Head coach in recruitment, its why JD left. Rinse and repeat for us. Unless you work for the club, I don’t see how on earth you would know this? The process was explained in front of some fans and available on a stream.

It takes all sorts to make a team and in the championship the TEAM is the most important ingredient Give the bloke a chance FFS I'm more than open to eating my words, i want him to succeed. Just drab aint it, signing players we know everything about. I’ll bet 99% of Brighton fans had never heard of the plethora of signings from South America and just look what’s happened there!

The process was explained in front of some fans and available on a stream. The poster I’ve quoted isn’t taking about the process. I know I’ve tried to correct his understanding of the HoR role pre Walters. The title gives the impression JD was in charge of recruitment and is a long long way from the truth.

Lol, when Dublin joined he and the club were slaughtered. Now he's the next Monchi. Standard SCFC fan modus operandi - piss knickers before a ball kicked. I used to be the same, now realised it's a pointless exercise. Exactly. We’ve all been there. Panicking because we don’t sign the players we expect or hope for, “Rock the city” syndrome. I try and reassure myself by thinking how nonplussed we were by signing the likes of Stein, Sheron, Ric etc and how they turned out. You have to hope anyway. Watch us get tonked by Bolton and this board will go into full on meltdown!!

No doubt if we lose a couple early doors the schuey out thread will go up, followed byt the Coates must sell cause JC is useless
Other than the odd negative comment when he left i wasnt aware he was hated at Hull

Think history is looking very kindly on JD by a few on here at the moment As you say he was getting slated not that long ago and was spoken about with the same disdain as Tricky Dicky

Surly making profit shows you invested well? IE done your job correctly. Must of loved Mark Cartwright you, Unbelievable I don’t want us becoming a selling club thanks. I don’t think bet365 needs the money. We should be building our team around those players. I haven’t liked much of our recruitment, been crap for 8-10 years. But I know it was diabolical last year for 75 percent of the season and I’m really baffled some of you think because we are signing Gally it’s a disaster. We were weak as piss last season and a team full of individuals and by the way Blackburn took 6 points off us last year just to add. We got bullied and some of these foreign lads weren’t up to the physical challenge of the league.

I don't remember Ipswich buying lots of overseas players last season and they seemed to do just fine. It's still very early days, I'm sure Darnbrough has got his own ideas and we'll hopefully see a well assembled squad come the end of the transfer window. Sensible poster alert

No one wants sell there best players, but theres a food chain and currently were no where near the top of it. Making small investments and getting big money back, then reinvesting is the only way to climb this league without parachute payments, at least until FFP rules are relaxed. Bocat fits that mould, Gallagher and Gibson have no monitory gain and I'm still unsure about how much they may improve us in the short term.

To be fair it’s perfectly reasonable to still be questioning whether Schumacher is the right man before the Bolton match. That’s not to say he doesn’t get a clean chance to go for it when the season starts but he’s done very little to show he’s going to be successful yet. I want him to succeed for sure.

I'm not saying that we shouldn't buy players from overseas, I thought Jared did a good job in finding Bae, Burger and Million. But was just trying to point out you can have success either way providing you have the right players, right coaching, right environment etc which is what Ipswich had.

I think he’s deserving of a couple of months before any serious concern could be expressed. He inherited a shit show from Neil but by the end of the season we looked a pretty decent side (at times). Turning clubs like ours around usually takes time. After 10 games if we are seriously underperforming and results are poor then I’d understand calls for his role to be reviewed. Even then though it’s symptomatic of the Watford type culture we’ve created where managers are swapped more frequently than you change your socks.
