Would be absolutely buzzing with this but I'm remaining skeptical until he's holding the shirt up.

I'm still a bit sceptical until there's some kind of reliable follow-up - just seems too good to be true! Same here FM. I read a tweet by Footy Condor (I can't post the link unfortunately) about it and in one of the responses to a comment he said the bloke who reported it is usually unreliable but given the way he reported it this time was giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Would be amazed if this happens but if it does..wow. This would shake things up.
Also it will make some on here look very very silly. Even if it was Jared who first scouted him it will be THIS transfer team going through with it and making the signing happen, which would instantly put to bed the stupid scenario people have dreamt up that they are afraid of the foreign market

Just a thought, and there are a few predications so bear with me, but Ryan Mmaee joined on July 28th last year.
There’s a decent chance he was one of our ESC players last year, as he would’ve been unlikely to get a standard work permit. You need to either play a decent number of games or prove your ability is good enough to switch to a standard work permit. It’s not unreasonable to think that Mmaee did that.
So, if Mmaee’s no longer ESC and now been granted a work permit, then we’ve got an ESC slot available as of yesterday, which you could use for a young player from an obscure league who won’t have met the criteria for a standard work permit just yet.
2 + 2 = 5?

We already had one available as Bae played enough to lose his ESC status. Unless Bocat took that

Unless Bocat took that He did, but I think you are committed to them for at least 12months before you can apply to lose the ESC and switch to standard (I think). So earliest Bae would lose his is the end of August when he joined.

Pretty sure working out on that calculator thing that Mmaee reasonably comfortably got a permit the standard way due to his limited involvement with Morocco and their high world ranking, as did Vidigal. It was touch-and-go whether Leris needed one, think he was right on the borderline. But if he did, he's gone now, as has Wes So don't think the wild card slots should be an issue, especailly knowing Bae and Burger won't be needing one this season

I’m not sure Wesley would’ve been an ESC player if he was joining from Villa. IMO, they would’ve been Bae, Burger, Jojic and Mmaee because of the leagues they joined from. Leris, Vidigal and Manhoef would’ve been fine as the leagues they joined from were of a much higher standard. Might be wrong, but that’s how I understood it worked.

Oh, you know, maybe.. Burger is going to play further up the pitch? 😲😉 I'll be surprised if one of Pearson and Thompson don't leave in January. I don’t get his insistence that Burger shouldn’t be further up the pitch. He can do everything, why would you limit him? He can tackle, pass and shoot. His long range shooting I think will be a part of us scoring more goals if he can get enough shots off. It’s pretty obvious Burger is a box to boxer to me. And a bloody good one. Quite easy really because he doesn’t suit the HC’s game plan. Can you honestly see him replicating the slick interplay in and around the box of Cundle of late last season. He is more suitable for a classic box to boxer but that is not Schu’s vision. He’s a top player and I’m sure he’ll make a fist of whatever he does but everything about him is better from deeper in the pitch. Funny how his coaches of his earlier career have all thought the same but then you’ve probably decided they’re idiots before you even know who they are.

My worry would be we're being used as a 'come n get me!' to someone bigger by his agent.
Fingers crossed though because he genuinely looks like a player who'd be perfect in a 3 man midfield unleashing Burger further up.

According to the article (I know take it with a pinch of salt) it says it's done and he's on his way over in the next few hours to meet up with his new team mates so we'll see.

Agent sits down with club, thrashes out the best deal he thinks he can get out of them. Says I’ll get back to you in xxx. Then frantically tries to smoke out something better. Phones the club says I can get this elsewhere. Seems we’re trying to remake the whole transfer process.

Oh, you know, maybe.. Burger is going to play further up the pitch? 😲😉 I'll be surprised if one of Pearson and Thompson don't leave in January. We have at least 5 players 6 if you include Sidibe who have been deployed in the role in their Stoke career. The HC plays 1 at the base of his most midfield. So yeah it’s kind of puzzling atm. Yeah and they all either don't play there or are shit. If the season started tomorrow I'd play Sidibe there. Burger needs be box to box. Laurent/Baker useless at it and probably won't be here. Pearson busy lathering himself in baby cream. Thompson absolsultey fine as back-up - cup games. If we get this position right it will set the whole team off! Well done Stoke.

Looks like we’re paying around £5 million for this kid. Absoloutely mental. Wouldnt of thought we’d spend the bulk of our budget on a 20 year old defensive midfielder tho. Crazy
