That isn't the point. You're suggesting that we can't have two good players in the squad for ANY position, not EVERY, otherwise in your words it becomes "problematic". I don’t think we should sign loans that block our own players. I think it’s terrible practise. And no I’m not. We already have 3 steikers. We don’t need another one. Period. With that mentally we’d be playing in Division Two

He's gonna have to win the Ballon d'Or this season to stop Bayern trolling the board every week he doesn't score a hat trick.

Do yourself a favour Bayern, log off and go the pub, it's what I'm doing. He thinks beer is disgusting. you just can't have Moretti on tap when you've already got Stella. terrible practice. Moretti will end up wanting out in January then we're stuck scrambling round for fucking Carling. ffs Stoke.

They wanted him permanently and he just wants a loan from the sound of it? Hardly a coup again from that pov? Koudos to you Bayern, 18 years on this particular format of the Oatcake still driving the same joyless cuntery, dedication at it's mental finest 🤣 H 👍 I only log on every few weeks really I have a busy life( I am not taking the piss each to their own) but every time I do I see this guy spouting utter nonsense then trying to justify it 🤣…talk about over thinking everything

What are we doing? Signing a real prospect of a striker that most of the decent clubs in the Championship are after?
Fucking shit Stoke, sort it out ffs.

Using bayern's logic, if we signed Mbappe on loan he'd be against it because it'd be 'blocking one of our own youngsters.'
If we can get a better player in, particularly over one who doesn't look ready, then it's a no-brainer. Offer Tezgel a new contract and get him out on loan.

I’m not sure you can compare Mbappe and Cannon On this one argument he has a point, Cannon improves the team I think, but perhaps not to the extent that some are hoping. If he hits double figures it’ll be a big improvement on what we’ve seen in recent years.

No because you’ll naturally have 2 players that can play the same position. But even the best teams don’t have two good players for every positions. Is this because you’d want to slag the club off in the event of an injury crisis?

So we can only have one good player for each starting spot? I think if you have 2 players expecting to start for each position it’s problematic. Players should be HOPING to start not EXPECTING to start - who plays is the manager/head coach's decision baseed on numerous factors (form, attitude, how they have trained, knocks, tactics/strategy for opposition). Remember when Banksy said 'see you next game' to Alf Ramsey and Alf replied 'if selected' - Gordon never forgot that response.

Realistically if we do get him it will be his first full season of potentially playing football regularly. He basically didn’t play for most of last season and had half a season at Preston the season before. So far in his career he has scored 10 goals over 2 seasons. Although I think it’s a good addition, can’t be getting carried away that he will be coming in a scoring 15+ goals this season.

We need more firepower, so Cannon would fit the bill perfectly.

I don’t think Cannon will either though 🤣 He’s not a massive step up. 8 in 20, in his first loan. Remember how Delap was during his first loan? If he recreates that record here or even betters it now with the experience under his belt, you're talking 16+ goals. That would be job done. He’s done nothing since to suggest he can which after an injury has to be a worry. A loan is better than paying for him. Because he’s not worth the ridiculous money being quoted. But he’s a gamble. People are going on like we’re getting a proven striker.

www.pne-online.net/forum/threads/new-signing-tom-cannon-loan-for-the-22-23-season.3437500/page-17As you'd expect, positive views from PNE You don’t get many finishers with the level of composure this lad has playing in the second tier. Big things beckon for him A serious talent. Everton should be playing this lad next season, regardless of what division they're in imo. Cannon > Archer Archer had that uncanny ability to hold a ball up, and lethal with both feet. Cannon is quicker and better in the air. Both are class at this level. TC plays like Nugent in his pomp. Cracking player destined for big things can't understand why Evertons best forward is here. Cannon for me has all the attributes to be a top striker and as things stand, he walks into Everton’s first team at present and offers much more goal threat than Ellis Simms. Class act, he'd have scored an absolute shit tonne in a good team. I'd guess he'll spend the first half of the season at Everton, then if his game time is limited, he'll be sent out to a West Brom or Sunderland in January for a nice loan fee.
