Absolutely, 6m+ is a lot for a player who may or may not make it. There’s a reason plenty of decent Championship clubs are after him at that price though surely. Yes - they are all panicking

There will a barrage of offers tomorrow. Not really fussed if we are involved or not to be honest...
Would rather use what we have and save the money !

Barring a major deadline day change of heart, Sunderland are out of the race to sign Leicester striker Tom Cannon, Sunderland Nation understands. Sunderland have decided to walk away from the Cannon race, especially with other clubs able to go higher in both terms of wages and transfer fee.

He doesn’t want come here so fuck him! I'm sure he'd much rather go to Real Madrid but reality bites. How many of our other players wanted to come here before ours turned out to be the best offer on the table??

So why is it going to the wire? Player ego wanting be breaking news on deadline day? Clubs leaving it late to make the headlines more that a Monday when no bugger notices?

If everyone is bidding the same amount is it not the player that then decides? If the player won't go somewhere they can't force them to move - gives the player a bargaining chip in terms of negotiating a 'loyalty payment' I guess.

In the unlikely even that all those clubs stuck to their guns when Leicester said "we have offers for this amount, would anyone like to better it"?

Bids perhaps doesn't say they have accepted the bids, they will be hoping the money goes up as clubs shit themselves as the deadline draws nearer, just hope we're not one of them who goes over the top fir him.

What is over the top? Obviously we shouldn't breach FFP to get him but other than that it's an investment call on a player. unless he's a disaster we have a CF moving forward beyond the end of the season.

No one can force him to move. Which was my original point. Do you think cannon will go somewhere tomorrow? 99% likely. So therefore them bids have been on the table for sometime, and either the player or the clubs involved in where he will go will use the deadline day yellow breaking news headline to benefit publicity for either the club or the player or both, like most transfers that go to the last day. Cannon could have gone somewhere Monday morning. Would anyone have noticed? No. Clubs and players love it. Some clubs have them all lined up for days but leave everything until last half hour. Some will keep fans sweating so they’re grateful of anything come last minute of the window

Over the top is whatever we can't afford, as we don't know for sure what we can afford I'll leave it to the club to hopefully not put us at risk now or in the near future.

No one can force him to move. True but he can be given a difficult devising ie we’ve accepted a bid from Sheffield United you can talk to them or stay here in the bomb squad life’s never as simple on the inside as it might seem from outside

Might be able to do better if we can supply him with good service from the likes of Bae, Manhoef and Koumas.

Are Sheffield United the Championship version of Chelsea. They seem to be linked with just about anyone either available or rumoured to be.
