He isn't worth 7 Million unless he's holding a winning mega-lottery ticket and willing to share.

Surprised he's that cheap tbh Delap went for £15m Sam Szmodics only cost Ipswich a £9mil fee and I'd rather have him as my striker right now, ahead of Delap who was £6mil more. Think Delap was overpriced by Man City as they can afford to do and not so sure Ipswich will get £15mils worth of value from Delap, especially as a premier league player where let's face it, as yet he's unproven

7m? No thanks. Move along! To who? How much can we spend? If we ain't in a position to spend £7m then we are not going to get a quality striker full stop If Leicester want rid and no club who wants him can pay that figure they will have to budge If we are spending that much then Stansfield is a better option from what I’ve seen and I’m sure there are others out there that represents far better value. We’ve pissed enough money up the wall on non scoring or injury prone forwards.

If Leicester have asked for £7m, they’d probably accept something around the £5mil mark you’d imagine. Pretty sure we’d be close to being able to afford that. A big question mark though is his wages. Not sure how much he’s currently earning and whether or not it'll break our wage structure

Just because Leicester value him at £7m isn’t necessarily what they’ll get.
They paid similar for him 12 months ago meaning with amortisation he’s probably without around £5.5m on their books.
I can see a deal being done for £5ish plus add ons.
Whether we’ve got that kind of fee in our locker only those at the club know.
He has been our no.1 priority all summer though so we must’ve had a rough idea of how much he’d cost.
Could we see someone sold to raise the cash, I really wouldn’t rule it out.
My money would be on Burger.

Can’t see anyone paying that sort of money for him …(straight off). .. think it’s gonna be a loan , so I guess it’ll come down to who the player wants to play for

I have a horrible feeling that we are going to blow a lot of money on Cannon and he won't work for us. He has had one good half season in the Championship. Having watched Koumas and Junho today I am convinced that Koumas can play centrally and lead the line by himself and that Junho doesn't understand the number 10 role so is better on the left. Therefore I would rather spend a lot on Cundle who was linking well with Bae and Million last year and forget about Cannon. I have no idea what sort of striker Cannon is and don't want to spend a lot on him if it will force Koumas wide.

Makes a lot of his runs from deep, a lot of diagonal out to in runs.

Well we certainly can't pay £7 million that's for sure. Not sure he's proven enough to command a £7Mil transfer fee. Especially as for us it would be a huge outlay and with his injury record and so so goal to game ratio, a huge gamble we simply can't afford to take.. I'd say thanks but no thanks, let Sheff Utd take the gamble on him which they can more afford to do than we can. He had a back injury the first few months of last season, but he was available to play the rest of the season. He just never got much of a look in at Leicester. For an average Preston side, he averaged a goal every 2.3 games. In our team, with Koumas and Million on the flanks, I expect that rate would improve significantly. When you look at some of the crazy prices Championship strikers are being sold for, £7M is probably a realistic valuation of his worth. If we are to get him though, we need to be cute in our negotiations - £5M + add-ons based on goals scored or promotion, or even a large percentage of any onward transfer. Saying that, the way Koumas played today in the CF role plus my concern over Bae being shunted to an unfamiliar No 10 role when he's probably better on the left leaves me wondering whether our money is better spent elsewhere, in particular RB.

So with that logic we keep Koumas down the front and our top man left, who replaces the woeful Thompson and Laurent . Please dont say Baker or half fit, half interested Burger who has settled fantastically into our top of the range facilities and joined in the go easy life.

I was thinking during the game today that even if we bring a striker in this week there's absolutely no way Koumas should be dropped or shifted around to a wide position straight off going forwards. I've seen enough of Koumas today for him to reclaim his place in the next match without a doubt of whoever we'll hopefully be able to bring in this week.

Don’t think he’ll be our CF in many games tbh. I’d much sooner see him in his most familiar position of wide left forward in a 4231 where the forwards are allowed to concentrate on attacking and help out further back as and when they can without being part of the basic defensive structure. I’m assuming it’s them who are meant to be defending the flanks whilst the FB’s tuck in and defend the edge of the box. Certainly got that impression from the amount of shit other players were giving Manhoef after each goal we conceded yesterday. It’s an abysmal use of a forward.

Can someone explain ffp, is it over a 3 year period?
If so, if buying cannon tips is over the ffp once all other positions are filled, can’t we just go for it, then after 18 months or 2 years sell one of our assets,
We all seem to think we only have Bae for more season, do that will balance it out easily. I’d rather have what the club deems are number one priority now, with all the other signings we have made.

I haven’t seen enough of Cannon to say if he’s a great player or what we need.
But if our scouts have identified him as being so and our number 1 target then we’ve got be ready to pay out 6/7m if we conceivably can. We’ve been desperate for a decent striker for so long and we’ve just got to accept you have to overpay for strikers. If we can get a young, decent striker in in a 4 year contract it will go a long way to sorting us out.
If we want someone who can make a difference then you’ve got to pay out this sort of money. Otherwise we will forever be taking chances on cheaper alternatives which will be long shot gambles.
