If you’re basing the argument based on performance enhancing biological factors, then someone tall shouldn't be allowed to compete in basketball, hormones drive all growth. So even if she had higher than average testosterone, if we start making judgements based on that, you would have to disqualify every single athlete for any physical advantage based on their genetics. Same as Michael Phelps, whose body produces less lactic acid than others. Should he have been banned from competing because of it? Obviously not mate come on - it's XY v XY and Phelps has benefited from an advantage in his lactic acids as others in the field will have benefited from being 6 foot 5 rather than 6 foot 3 but it's all within the same biological sex. It'll no doubt give him a benefit but those would be the breaks or we'd all be international superstars. Every prime sports man or woman will benefit from some quirk be it height, speed, intelligence or Garincha's bendy legs. The difference here is it's XY v XX where the testosterone can be 10-20 times higher - we're not speaking nominal quirks in individuals but a completely different sex. If they fail a sex test then there needs to either be an open category or they can compete v males (they won't though because they won't win) - the option can't be 'well they say they're a woman so the other women will just need suck it up'. Caster Semeny literally has bollocks and has fathered kids - that isn't a slight deviation in genetics across the field but cheating and should have been running against biological men. However, in this scenario we're talking about biological women being punched in the face rather than just losing a race. If we're normalizing XY just being a quirk in genetics like Phelps lactic acids and women just need deal with it accordingly then women's sport is absolutely pointless never mind dangerous. There's no indication that Khelif is anything other than a woman. She's never identified as anything else - including being intersex. The only "proof" that she has XY chromosomes comes from IBA president Kremlev, and the IBA have refused to disclose what form of testing they even used in 2023. The IBA decision was also made without any review - it was purely based on the secretary general and CEO's decision.

I wonder if we'll see more cases like this in the future, in all kind of sports.

First heat of the women’s 5000m was stacked. Hard to see Kipyegon not taking gold and in the 1500 too. Hassan doing the triple distance events is the kind of madness I can get on board with. Her win in London in 2023 was one of the great marathon performances ever and like a lot of her races, was won in batshit style.

Never noticed before but Gabby Logan is constantly interrupting the rest of the pundits and when Denise Lewis was talking to her she just had her head down rifling through her notes. Not very professional

She ended up last fer feck’s sake Japanese distance runners often have such weak speed at the end of distance races that they gamble on building that type of lead and vainly hope that they can cling on. It’s weird one of because for males, Japan has so many competitors with huge engines but lack top-end speed endurance. In a marathon in Japan last year, there were 42 runners who ran sub 2-10 which is fucking mental. Britain has only had 22 runners who have hit below 2.10 ever.

Surely if she had stayed in the pack she’d have some gas in the tank, whether it was enough or not she wouldn’t have come last like.

Haven't watched any of the Olympics whatsoever but I've just watched the 46 second boxing match between the Algerian and Italian boxers
Blimey.... Very one sided, almost like a man versus a girl but we'll gloss over that.
