Crikey, looking like we’ve definitely got funds in the transfer wallet then!

Is he any good, I know he's a left footed centre half but that's about it.

That’s quite a fee for a 26 year old defender moving to another Championship club.

Good player but seems a lot of money, would we really spend that much?

When does the window open?
Is it July some time before contracted players start to move?
Going to be a long wait with lots of speculation before we see anything

www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jake-clarke-salter/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/316551Slight concern would be this being his first 30-game season at 26. Injury a recurring problem Got a great youth pedigree with the England age-group teams at Chelsea, but to be stuck in the Champ at 26 (like Baker) is a bit of a puzzler with that background. QPR fans very much rate him though (although Steve Cook won their player of the year) Seems a hell of a lot of money for a peak-age Champ-to-Champ move.

No chance we’ll spend that on him.
He probably needs a new contract.

Was impressed with him when we lost 1-0 at Coventry under O’Neill. Was available on a free last summer, probably should have taken a look then.

Seems like an awful lot of money. Surely there would be better value with abit of decent scouting.

There’s no point buying players who aren’t likely to ever be able to meet the requirements of turning up to work all season.

A great character and someone you’d want in your dressing room. Most importantly a good player. All the top championship teams have players like him

We would be the 5th Championship club he has played for. When at Chelsea he had loan spells at Sunderland, Birmingham and Cov City before joining QPR
The closest he came to playing for Chelsea was that on 5 March 2016, Clarke-Salter appeared on Chelsea's substitutes' bench on a 1-1 draw with Stoke City.

Surely Jared's sexy algorithms can find someone called Jacka Clarke’a-Saltera playing in the Polish second division for a snip of the transfer being talked about here?

Hopefully we don’t spend big money on this guy, then in six months time realise that he was only effective playing alongside a Steve Cook type character, which we still don’t have.

This type of fee seems a bit out of whack, based on what we spent last summer?
About 8m in and around 13 spent - so net spend of about 5ish?
(plus about another 3.5 on Million in Jan)
So what are we anticipating this time?
Tymon 2.7 Taylor 0.3 Brown 5.0
Mmaee 1.75 Bae 2 Gooch 1 Pearson 0.5 Vidigal 0.5 Jojic 1 Leris 0.8 Tchamadeu 1 Burger 4.3
Manhoef 3.5

We just have to assume we've spent 1 million on a player who is completely shit and nowhere near good enough, right? Couldn't even make the 18 man squad in a meaningless end of game season.

The players on the periphery of the squad you'd have thought wouldn't go for much that would really improve the transfer budget. Baker, Vidigal, Johnson etc are going to be pennies if they go. 5mill seems a lot for one player given we need probably at least 6 new faces so doesnt tally up.

No chance we’ll spend that on him. He probably needs a new contract. could well be exactly that, agent plants a story, player gets a new contract however if it's not that & we are interested & that reported fee is correct makes you wonder if something is changing re FFP?

Thats true there will be god knows how many players linked with Stoke this summer, a large number of which will be false news however Percy is probably the most reliable of sources as you can get
