We've had real shit weather here on the East Coast which I imagine is a typical day over there in England. Anyway, while driving home, I figured I'd try my hand at beans on toast, which I've never had. I swung by Publix to pick up some Heinz beans from their tiny UK food section. Got home, cut a couple slices from the sourdough loaf I made this last weekend and toasted them up. Heated the beans and put them on some buttered toast and threw a couple over easy eggs on there to boot. This was my dinner time meal (because why not?), but I will say it was pretty damn good. I will do this again. I normally poke fun at British cuisine, but well done on this food combo folks.

Egg on top of beans? Fuck right off you fucking scumbag! Should I have put them underneath? Depends on what type of heinze you got. Was it the regular or the big bean? If its big bean then it tastes best stuffed inside.

I quite like a bit of grated cheese or a slice of burger cheese melted on a fried egg, with some salt n pepper. What an egg, what an egg, what an egg, what an egg, what a mighty good egg.

I've a co-worker who puts fried eggs on his hamburgers. Not for me, at that point it's just a breakfast sandwich with hamburger instead of sausage. As for the beans, they were the regular sized ones in a tomato sauce Heinz light blue can with black label. Our beans over here are basically beans with brown sugar and corn syrup -- everything has f'ing corn syrup in it here. But, if you brown up some ground hamburger and mix it in with a can of Bush's Baked Beans, it was a good cheap meal when you were young, stupid and drunk in college.

While I empathise with your concern of placing easy eggs on top of Beanz, if they had been sunny side up I would have less concern My problem with this parable is that the poster hasn't not got over his Covid obsession of making Sourdough Bread The most profound advice I can offer is "Get over yourself"

English weather, "tiny" UK food section, British "cuisine" etc. Given that baked beans are traditionally Native American, HJ Heinz an American company, and beans the food of cowboys (so volubly celebrated in Mel Brooks "Blazing Saddles") how come you pick up on this particular delicacy as being a just too cute little lunch from Old Engerland? I would have thought you would have been serving portions of beans the size of English counties in your roadside diners for years.

Don't waste your time with oatcakes, they're shit. Have to agree Lost on me Best rainy day meal. Corned beef and grated cheese on white. Microwave for about 30 seconds . Thai sauce, proper stuff No beans, am not 8 and don't wear National Health specs. Why not have a few Turkey Dinosaurs as well ? Actually that sounds ok

I make a bean stew when it’s really wet outside and I have the time. Throw in a bag of kale, blend half and feel confident that I won’t catch a cold.

Egg, chips & beans an all time top midweek meal I like egg and beans but not together. Too much moisture resulting in an unpleasant liquid creation.
