Itâll stimulate my recovery. Mind you I slipped in the shower earlier. Like a red hot poker twisted in my groin. Ouch hope youâre ok. Put that scythe down for a while yetđ It came a bit keen. Good job Iâd left Scythe outside.

I'm sensing a condescending toneđ. English weather, "tiny" UK food section, British "cuisine" etc. Given that baked beans are traditionally Native American, HJ Heinz an American company, and beans the food of cowboys (so volubly celebrated in Mel Brooks "Blazing Saddles") how come you pick up on this particular delicacy as being a just too cute little lunch from Old Engerland? I would have thought you would have been serving portions of beans the size of English counties in your roadside diners for years. No condescension intended but possibly alluded to. However, I'm sure MarylandStoke and CvilleStoke can confirm the size of your country's food section in our stores over here. Frankly, Publix and Wegman's are probably the only stores that carry British fare anyway. I mostly just pick up tea, malted vinegar and beans in those sections as there's not much else. They do have kippers, but I never cared for British style kippers. HP sauce is good enough, but nothing to write home about. Beans at roadside diners is not really a thing in my experience. Now if we're talking grits...

Occasionally do a winter warmer that my late dad used to love. He had this knackered old enamel/tin plate which he filled with the strongest cheddar on the market. Pour in some milk to almost cover the cheese then whack it under the grill until everything is bubbling like crazy and the cheese is just going a golden brown but not burning. Asbestos gloves required to remove from the heat then eat with chunks of white bread and pickled onions, fantastic. He gave me the plate just before we lost him and it still gets used occasionally. Give it a try.

God almighty that looks like cutting open a fetus. đ€Łđ€Ł That picture was actually originally released by the royal family. Its a zoomed in pic from Charles having his breakfast. Is it actually a picture of Charlie's valet slipping and slicing the royal's thumb?

Foreign muck âŠ..reminds me of my late dad he was very much a traditional meat & 2 veg type.. I was up seeing him for a few days and for dinner he decided he wanted salmon, new potatoes and salad. I popped up the coop and got the stuff a thought Iâd get some fat free Italian salad dressing. So he sits at the table and I serve up dinner on a plate and put the salad dressing in front of him. "Whats this?" He asked, "just some Italian salad dressing dad, just sprinkle it over your salad leaves". His reply is still spoken of as legendary in our familyâŠ.."bugger off I dunner want any of that foreign muck!" My Mrs laughs at me when I tell her I probably didn't eat a non-British meal until I was maybe 16y/o. Vesta Curry was my first foray into foreign muck. I did prefer the Chicken Supreme though. I never ate real spaghetti/pasta until I was 24 Had it out of a tin once and was revolted

I may not make many friends with this but I have a very particular "recipe" for baked beans. I have been known to add up to eight extra condiments to the in-pan mix. Usually some combination of most or all of: - butter - salt - pepper - worcestershire sauce - chili sauce - chili flakes - dried oregano - dash of white vinegar Importantly they then have to be blasted on a high heat, stirring constantly to avoid stickage, so that they reduce down to an oozing consistency and the beans are nice and soft. Nothing worse than unseasoned, hard beans in a watery tomato sauce just heated through. I love a baked bean but you have to put a bit of effort in to reap the real rewards. Worcestershire SauceâŠ..Been married 47 years and weâre already on our 2nd bottle busting the myth that nobody buys a more than one. âŠ.. I go through a bottle a month. Great on most things, especially cottage pie and mince of any kind

Sounds like a night out in the Castro Did a friend tell you? I did wander into a bar there once not having a clue although gf at the time did and thought would be funny When I realised I was the only one who had an arse in his trousers and didn't look like Freddie Mercury, the penny dropped....no I didn't bend over to pick it up either I think was the day Pac Bel Park opened as we managed to get tickets for the Giants or perhaps their first game there as a big fanfare

Not particularly a rainy day meal but I visited my daughter last week just as her partner's mother turned up with some fritters from the place at Hem Heath. Placed in a couple of rounds of buttered white bread they were delicious
