Obviously very much depends on your age.
For me, it's not a specific decade per say, more a split of 2.
Mid 70's to Mid 80's.
Early 70's were pretty grim, too much Motown, Glam and Bay City Rollers...
Mid to late 70's were awesome, Emergence of SKA, The Police, Punk etc etc, same with Early 80's, but once techno clicked in fooking awful...

Late 70's to mid 80's couldn't really go wrong, exceptions to every rule but even so. People playing instruments and writing lyrics, who'd have thought.

The 70s definitely. Classic and prog rock, great soul music, punk, post punk/new wave, disco. All before the over produced style over substance of the 80s. What more could you ask for? Having said that there was some great alternative music and dance music in the 80s.

Imo the 70's were the best, and worst, decade for music
90s definitely the most boring

My preference is late 70’s and early 80’s as Atillah says but I really like a lot from the 60’s and mid 90’s too.

Slightly prefer 1971, but I'm being pedantic. I give you: Carole King - Tapestry Cat Stevens - Teaser And The Firecat David Bowie - Hunky Dory Deep Purple - Firball Don McLean - American Pie Doors - LA Woman Elton John - Madman Across The Water Faces - A Nod Is As Good As A Wink Isaac Hayes - Shaft Jethro Tull - Aqualung John Lennon - Imagine Led Zepplin IV Lindisfarne - Fog On The Tyne Paul & Linda McCartney - Ram Rod Stewart - Every Picture Tells A Story Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers T.Rex - Electric Warrior The Who - Who's Next Yes - The Yes Album The short answer to the original questions is 'the decade you were a teenager'.

To do what everyone seems to do nowadays & put them in a tier list it'd be...
S tier - 70s & 90s. A tier - 00s. B tier - 60s & 80s C tier - D tier - 10s & 20s.

One of his best singles was released in August 1970 but it was far from being one of his best albums unfortunately. Goosebumps ...

Iirc In 1970 he was the most successful artist in the Top ten or UK charts , whatever it was then, with Suspicious minds, in the Ghetto , and 2 others...I'll have to check, possibly the Wonder of You, I've lost you. I stand to be corrected on course. My memory isn't what it was , now I've turned 30

It's the genre of music I hate the most. Pretty much ok with most, but Motown I conna stand in any guise.
