Another match where Stoke get More shots, more on target, more posession and more corners but no end result. This is why we are better than under AN. But we do need bodies.

It’s not worse than AN. But we need a whole host of new players. Especially up front. Scoring goals is such a problem. I don't think we need that many to see a huge improvement. Teams are like a machine. Replace the broken parts and suddenly the rest can look better. Commanding CB, a fit LB, and some kind of useful forward would see so many things fall into place IMO. I'd say its more like at least 2 CBs, Rose has improved but we still need better and the rest can all go for me.

Gooch v Clarke has been disastrous He’s had Hoever on toast the last two meetings even though we won the games. He’s just a very good player. We don’t know whether Junior would fare any better against him either. That’s why this one is on the manager, double up on him FFS

Quality from the Sunderland fans there for Gooch... It's easy to be magnanimous when you've virtually won with ease

Defence a huge issue for me. All over the place. I get goals change games but clean sheets get you points too and this lot don't have many clean sheets in them without locking the side up like the crown jewels.
We don't have a keeper worth the name on the books and our centre halves are a joke.
The fact we don't seem to have any full backs either is head scratching.
Our foundations are made of quick sand and as we know, successful teams at this level are built on solid foundations.

We need a left back and a striker plus a target man who can hold up the ball.
Needed these for several seasons and multiple managers
I live in hope! ( and despair)
At least more effort is being put in.

Let’s hope SS can see the obvious problems (Pretty much everywhere) and work a miracle to correct them before we are in a relegation scrap.

Looking at the stats Wilmot and Rose have won 2 aerial duels between them all afternoon.
It’s not even like they’re up against a big striker.

Why has Wilnot got back in this team…..he simply isn’t a footballer with enough nouse about him. Because the alternatives are no better?

Wow. I honestly don't see it like that. Who was manager when we won 4-0 at Sunderland last season? 🤔 Did you leave before the end 5-1

Safest place for Seagulls is inside the Sunderland net.
Hovering up there has to be dangerous. Never seen so many shots blasted OVER THE BAR.

Defensively we are shocking and up front we are just as bad. Clarke has been left unmarked all game and our defenders have ran away from him instead of getting stuck into the fucker all game.

Bit of a odd one, this.
We need to start scoring ASAP; sod the other end.
I don't think Cundle is up to it.
We're playing deputies at full back and it shows.
But the main problem for me is that we'll never get any goals out of Leris, Haks or Vidigal.
They aren't good enough, and it's at the heart of our inability to score goals.
The sky has not fallen, we could have nicked one before half time and it would have been a different game. A pattern *is* emerging that we get more corners, shots and shots on target than our opponents.
But we need some business over the next few days.

We still miss key players. The types of players that can change a game and its result. Bet we score for fun in training but its on match day it counts. Miss everything. Even the goal we score is an own goal. Gonna be tricky if we cnt do some thing in the window to address goals scored.
