Please, not Eustace. Love the bloke but he wasn't great on the whole at Brum and his football isn't great on the eye Yeah not overly keen on Eustace.

May as well just look at Sunderland are after and go for the other one on their shortlist. Will Still would be a decent punt. I tried to watch Still’s side play at Nice earlier on to see what style they play but I had to turn it off due to some idiot with a megaphone constantly shouting and starting songs for the crowd. Proper tinpot!

Love the bloke but he wasn't great on the whole at Brum and his football isn't great on the eye Let's buck the trend and go progressive Yeah it does seem like a bit of stab in the dark. However who knows, maybe it'll be a match made in footballing heaven and he goes on to be one of our best ever managers. Its the hope that kills us in the end 😆

If one of my favourite ex-Stoke players is on the touchline for my first game in six years vs Millwall that would be a belter of a xmas prezzie! 😅🙏🏼

Initially we need someone with a track record in pulling clubs out of deep holes, because that’s where we now are.
Forget pretty football for now. We need points at all costs.

Certainly not the type of appointment I was after but it will be interesting to see if he can do any better than AN with these players. Just hope the contract isn’t too long ie past the end of next season.

With Eustace I keep thinking back to DaveJohno I think (?) referencing him from his coaching mate and it’s heartening to be honest. He’d be in my top 2-3 targets.

Anything else would have been madness. He’s lost the fans and it would have taken an almighty run of results to get the fans back on side and he’s demonstrated he’s simply not capable of doing so.

That's my main worry, that this won't work with the players we've got. We're still not in the relegation zone yet and there's plenty of time left in the season and the January transfer window coming up. Would someone like Warnock work with this lot?

Just give it Ryan till May. Then just get an absolute batshit mental foreign manager a la Boskamp, and another batshit mental DoF who plays a 2-2-2-4 system....and simply loan as many players from Guatemala and Panama as possible for said system.

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-city-alex-neil-live-8966144Alex Neil on the brink at Stoke CitySpeculation is mounting over the future of Alex Neil as Stoke City manager. Neil has come under huge pressure after a massively disappointing first few months of this season, culminating in defeats in the last four games. He had been backed to turn the club around with a huge turnover in staff and players since he arrived in August 2022, but supporters showed their dissent following a horrible 1-0 home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday yesterday. It is understood that he met joint-chairman John Coates at Clayton Wood this morning, with the next match scheduled for Tuesday, at home against Swansea.

Could see it being Nigel Pearson appointed. I'd forgotten about him. Yes that could be a decent appointment potentially. I've never known a fanbase be so vehemently opposed to a manager's sacking as Bristol City's when Pearson was fired six weeks ago. He would be a good choice for your job I think.

Just the approach that won’t work with this squad. We don’t really know that, because they’ve been so badly managed up to now. I’m not really advocating any particular style of football, just saying we need a manager who knows how to get points in the bag from this group of players. Whatever style that may need.

I think a decent central striker could transform this team. Until then we are just going to have to muddle through. Don’t expect these players to grind out points though it’s a recipe for disaster as we’ve seen the last few games.

I'd prefer a British caretaking plodder to come in with one mission in January. Build us a defense and then be an assistant to a new foreign manager to build out the attack. One could hope.
