I think Laurent has done my head in so much because the ability is there.
You see it one game and then for some reason that only he can answer you don't see it for up to 10 games.
If we're getting a fee for him then I'm happy. He doesn't contribute anywhere near enough for us to keep him around. We need someone who turns up 38 times a year not 7 or 8 times.

If he wanted to he could be an ok Premier League player. He doesn’t want to. And that’s what really annoys me too. He has every attribute you want in a good midfielder. But he chooses not to use them.

Don’t think he’s been shit and I don’t think he’s particularly played at a lesser level than he could have. Sometimes it’s beyond ability and physical attributes. Maybe tactically he’s not great as far too many times the game has passed him by, not because he’s shit, but because he’s simply not there or where he should be. Nothing to do with ability, but understanding the game being played on the pitch. Certainly nowhere near the worst we’ve signed and I don’t buy that he’s a shirker or anything, but not sure how he was ever our captain.
5/10 on the signing-o-meter.

I’d never heard of him when we signed him. Don’t think he’ll really be missed

How someone the size of Laurent can vanish on a football pitch for three quarters of the season is an absolute art, on your way Josh go turn someone else’s midfield into to a passive non contact stroll

A bit too nice, a bit too smiley, a bit too concerned about the potential harm that could be caused by using his physicality ruthlessly. I doubt it’s a problem to him, I doubt he takes it anywhere near as seriously as his detractors want him to. At the end of the day if you want someone who thinks it’s a matter of life and death you’ve got the wrong man but why should he compromise himself to please you or me??

Must say that I’m not bothered in the slightest if Josh leaves. He’s just not for me. That being said, I wish him all the best.

I agree with you,he does produce the odd good performance but this is, unfortunately, the exception. I can't see where his prowess, according to some, has actually been proved.

I think his problem is the ability isn't there. Hes a an absolute unit and athlete. Football comes absolute secondary to him, I'd say there are players in Tier 6-10 who scan games and take possession better. If he was 5"8 he'd be playing for the dog and duck.

He should get stuck in and give his all in every game because he plays central midfield for a professional football club that pays him a shit tonne of money to do exactly that. Not really about pleasing anyone is it.

Maybe something will click and he'll realise his full potential. Maybe..... Usually have that feeling of hope that they don’t go and do well elsewhere but I really couldn’t give a fuck if he goes and wins player of the season there. We are better off without him here.

I bet Laurent cant believe his luck, mind you Scott Parker does have a tendancy to help us out for some reason, first Bursik and now Laurent!

Really frustrating overall. Saw him at Shrewsbury and he looked like a dynamic box to box midfielder. Moved to Reading where he was a bit more of a sitter but still looked decent. Early decent form here has faded to nothing.
That said, he's played under three different managers plus two caretakers since 2022 so I guess that takes it's toll after a while.

Laurent and Campbell were the absolute core of our dressing room. They might be nice people but they sure helped create a mentally weak culture.

The thing is he could have been first choice here if he’d really wanted it. I’m not sure that’s the case at a team that was in the Premier League last season, and won the Championship the year before.
Good luck to him, and maybe he proves us all wrong. But it feels like a club needing squad filler, and a player happy to be on the bench more often than not…

Good move for him on paper but Burnley are a mess at the minute. He’ll not help them either. Gave him a lot of time to prove the haters wrong but always gave off a vibe that he'd been hard done by
