Nothing against him personally, but really no loss at all from a football perspective.

His tackling has been relatively poor for the last two years. He's hardly been a player who "gets stuck in". Quite the opposite, when the tough gets going he tended to disapear. |

BWell with time to kill I thought I’d catch some of the East Lancs derby just in case our former Captain was making his debut, and to my astonishment there he was and the answer to the enigma of Laurent was answered, Stripes can hide a multitude of sins ? Stripped of his stripes and now in claret and blue wobbled a lumbering lump of lard who even his teammates avoided like the plague.
The only exercise Laurent had was with his mouth, even his teammates avoided passing to the blob ! How we have been fooled by past and present management that Laurent was the epitome of a modern midfield player is beyond me, and we had made him the Captain ? Thank god SS has seen through him and Baker and disposed of these dead weights that have been dragging Stoke down.
