So all you people on here disparaging Larent know better than the people running Burnley who are hot favourites to go up. I rate Laurent and he will be a big loss He'll be going there as cheap squad filler for them. |

I rate Laurent and he will be a big loss We've done fuck all with him and he's been the central part of our happy go lucky shit mentality dressing room. Laurent is nowhere near as bad as many in this board make him out to be. I think he's a solid enough Championship midfielder. However, I'll be surprised if he goes to Burnley, and I'll be even more surprised if he gets in the team there, but if he does go without an incoming replacement then we'll be worse off for it. If we get a reasonable fee though, and it allows us to bring in someone else then fine for him to go, I'd still rather keep Laurent than Johnson or Baker though.

If we accepted 500k, I doubt Burnley will offer double that. More than likely it'll be between 300/400k with potential add ons, surely

How many times have Burnley raised Stoke for a cheap deal ? Bardsley Pieters Collins Walters ( not really £3m was over the odds) Crouch . Not to mention that Scott Parker took Bursik . So if Gallagher was £1m plus add ons then so is Laurent

He’s a very good but limited midfielder who didn’t suit most games tactics. For me he’s a rapid centre mid, very good at progressive runs, good aerially and at intercepting but he isn’t good in tight spaces or passing generally.
Lawal is his replacement, and we have too many midfielders, so accepting a fee at this stage wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. Still need to get rid of Johnson and Baker though.
