You are probably not going to like this, but I’m going to say it anyway…., I actually think we have a pretty large minority of really shit fans who jump at the chance to get on the backs of the players, manager, even the technical directors and scouts etc. I don’t think we are viewed as a good club to be a part of (certainly not in the last 5 years) - we’ve had what I’ve heard described as a toxic culture, and in some part I put that down to our fan base. We cannot simply be so unlucky that we keep signing entitled shitheads, can it? We seem to either attract more than our fair share or we are creating that attitude once these players are here. Honestly, I'm a distance fan, but to say it's the fans fault is absolutely ridiculous and is part of the problem. The fans expect a certain level of quality after what, 120m spend in what is a shit league. They and everyone in the football world has the right to question what the fuck is going on at the club (pardon my french). This whole experimenting thing is also ridiculous, as if we are trying to reinvent the wheel. Funding the club with experts is the only way to succeed in football, not ask the manager to run the entire club (hiring yes men in essential roles). Fans have been very very very patient. And still are. We are apathetic, but a minority voice their frustrations. They do that at man United games, at Portsmouth games, everywhere they are unhappy with the direction or lack of progress of the club. He like me isn’t saying it’s all the fans fault, I’m a fan travelled home and away and I’m pissed off too. It’s not my fault we lost. It’s when it steps over the line, and we have quite a few who can’t wait to get stuck in. Look at goochs reception by the Sunderland fans after they lost at our place v the vitriolic abuse he got to when he came to clap? You can want Neil out, think Laurent is another shit player and captain, that Tyrese is lazy, that vidigal can’t hit a barn door and tries daft overhead kicks at cov when he should have headed hit. You can boo the players off, call out Neil etc etc. you can question the decisions that left us with a defence so fragile and goalkeeper (who tries) but isn’t good enough. The clearance in the 94th that gave them the throw in in our half. But there’s a line that’s been crossed by some of our pissed up/coked up snowflakes. Who are becoming a bigger minority. You getting stuck him to them won’t improve Feck all. It might make you feel better, but it ain’t helping.

You can't fault our away fans they have been giving up their weekends to travel big distances ( plymouth!) to give great vocal support to the lads , who have been regularly letting them down for years.
even if its true that the fans patience snapped on saturday , then that is deserved , and its taken a long time coming

Fans don't like being taken for Mugs .
AN, Canning , Ricky and Jared are all frauds , paying themselves millions , sunning themselves in Dubai , patronizing the fans with bullshit and cowardly getting off the pitch sharpish , every time the team play like half hearted amateurs , which is far too often .
They are the problem , not the fans , and the sooner they are gone the better .
We need real stand up football running the club .
Real football men like Tony Waddington , Lou Macari , Tony Pulis , John Mahoney , John Ritchie , Dennis Smith , Mike Doyle , Howard Kendal ,Mark Stein, Johnny Eustace , Robert Huth and many more build Stoke City . Not these idiots.
who next ? is a massive appointment

It’s not a new thing….I remember the dogs abuse(though totally deserved) that Alan Ball suffered,I think he once put cotton wool in his ears (?) I was only in my teens, but definitely remember expressing my emotions to that useless dick,Mick Kennedy at many a match.

The notion that our current malaise is the fans fault is almost as laughable as the mindset that thinks the owners of the club are anything other than completely incompetent.
What is it with Stoke fans (and people from this city in general) that makes them so accepting of absolute shit?

It wasn’t personal or racial mate, not at all. Just the usual that players get after such an inept performance. Fans telling them that they are shit, useless etc. The blokes an absolute tool, worst captain I’ve seen in my 31 years of supporting that’s for sure. Vidigal was giving it the biggun too, there’s a pic of him being pushed back by a steward. A relegation battle should be fun with these pricks that’s for sure. Hold on tight folks. Not personal then? What qualifies him as the worst captain in 31 years? That’s my opinion, I don’t see him as a leader, I find him lazy, I don’t see him setting examples on the pitch, I don’t see him facing up to the media to explain the shit show that’s happening before our paying eyes every week. That lot thrown in with this being possibly my most disliked squad since I started going in 1990 then yeah, he’s my worst captain. Am I allowed a personal opinion?

This isn't my anecdote so no tedious pelters, but a Stokie yesterday was told first hand by Laurent's parents at the game that the players don't like Alex Neil.

Change like for rate, or understand, or respect... the bottomline is, the players don't 'like' Neil, which I suspect means, they don't have faith in him. That is bound to affect performance, attitude, mental strength. When we feel we're going to lose, they will feel it too. That is rank bad management not unprofessional behaviour on the part of the players.

No excuse for abuse in any walk of life. if I'm getting abused by a customer at work I'm going to stand my ground. Fans abusing players is well out of order as is abuse directed to other fans or players on here - needs to stop and admin need to get a grip imo.

Does it? Just confirms to me that they are either poor players, poorly coached or both. You don't get performances like Boro and Leeds if a manager has lost the dressing room and that was only 5 or six games ago.

I think Laurent mis judged just how angry some fans were. Clearly, to me, he was just trying to show his appreciation for our efforts in getting there, and, whilst angry, fans should have recognised this and cut him some slack. As others have said, most of he players, and manager, couldn't get off the pitch quick enough

What is it with Stoke fans (and people from this city in general) that makes them so accepting of absolute shit? How fucking dare you! We don't accept shit! We're at the cutting edge, in this country, trying every new drug* going before the rest of the country do! *The drugs may end up being shit, I'll give you that, but we didn't know that until after we'd had them tested on us! Progressive! 🤪

I’ve always thought this, must be something in the water I presume and the owners exploit it, Bonham couple of good games and hey presto he’s offered a contract extension when in reality he’s awful. You just know JC is sharpening the axe to deflect any blame from him.

If you were told by Laurents parents what goes on in the dressing room then thats by definition, not first hand and if you were told this by a fellow fan, who had it from the parents, its not even second hand, its basically a footie ground rumour

Josiah Wegdwood’s son Thomas funded the Georgian beatnik poets’ addiction. On drugs we’ve got 200 years of leading the charge.

Oh no we don’t need this more controversy all we need! Disagree, The club, manager and players need to know what it means. They need pelting with both barrels until they do understand.
