This is a fantastic example of when we sign a player people on here are all over it ….”their fans think he’s wank”, “theyre laughing at us” etc etc Managers see past that shit and this is proof as he’s signed for a club who could well be heading for the premiership next season So you think he has been a good performer for us over the last few seasons? When we haven’t made the top half of the league and regularly been outplayed in midfield? We can be sure if Burnley get promoted he will never feature in the PL |

If we can get a fee for Laurent after picking him up on a free it's a no brainier. He will b on a good wage and will hopefully be replaced by someone younger who actually appears to give a shit!

Very surpsrised at this unless we are absilutrly sure of an incoming cundme fkr example which neans we dont need his type Incomings already here,Lawal,Sol and Moran Quite happy if Cundle does sign but we still have too many, Johnson can leave too Baker scores goals so there is a case for him staying but no issue if he leaves either really |

500k you don’t get much of anything with that , even with his inconsistency you would be hard pushed to find someone as good The alternative being we lose him for nothing as a free agent next summer. It’s also his salary that gets freed up and hopefully gives us the chance to get someone else in. It’s definitely more to do with salary than fee I think. |

Great move for all concerned bar Burnley…
Has ability but only turns it on now n again. The points made about defensive lapses are valid- he’s terrible at tracking runners and several goals conceded last season demonstrate this.
He’s not pulled up trees for us, been insconsitent and synonymous with relegation battles.
Good luck to him- wish I could say he always gave his all but was very evident he hasn’t!!

I really don’t care if he is player of the season, scores twenty goals and gets Burnley promoted, the bloke has been a failure for us and I’m tired of his performances. It hasn’t worked for him and with him and Campbell gone it’s two less enigmas to worry about. I want to see players who are committed to Stoke City and will bust that lung to do what needs to be done on the pitch.

Josh Laurent will be good in a good team that plays with confidence and self belief.
He was never the type of player who was going to thrive in a team bumming about in 18th, second guessing every pass and run.
Sadly that's also the case for a lot of midfielders we've signed over the last 5 years, it's self fulfilling.
We keep blaming the midfield and signing more and more of them without ever really resolving the issue of committing brain dead errors in defence every other week and averaging a goal a game despite being consistently better than that on XG. Those are the things that are really killing us.
Midfielders hiding and being infuriatingly inconsistent is a symptom rather than a cause. Not that the hiding is forgivable, it's not and he was shocking for it.

One game he'd look like a Premier League player then deliver seven or eight performances that were League One standard at best. Never anything in between.

Far too inconsistent. 1 good game in about 15.
Also the weakest big man I have seen on a football pitch. He should be a man mountain in midfield but gets so easily knocked off the ball and weak in the tackle that it defies belief.

No issues with him going. Hoever and Campbell I think we will miss but Laurent is just so weak in the tackle for someone who looks like a physical unit. Seems like a nice guy but cashing in is best for all concerned...
