They said when Neil was sacked, they wanted a manager to take the team in a different direction, would suggest more continental/foreign approach, someone like Eustace would fly in the face of that, as it would be rinse & repeat. Didn’t they mean up?

I don’t really care who’s next manager. I just hope whoever it is can turn things around. I don’t want a refurbed “Richard’s”, or a fan park, or San Miguel by popular demand, or even a train station by the ground, or bullshit PR nights meeting the manager and Jon. I just want a decent team, that plays good football. I think that has been the lost priority here. The new Indiana jones movie title: Stoke City and The Lost Priority

I aren't bothered if they play nice football or not i just want someone who can produce results, We have gone down hill ever since the fans called for better football than what Mr Pulis was giving us. Good grief 😂

If it was going to be Eustace you would think it would be done by now. We are obviously exploring options. Clubs don’t always have people lined up. If a manager needs to be removed for whatever reason at short notice ( E.g. players not playing for the manager) then that has to be done regardless of other options as seems to be the case with both Sunderland and Swansea.

Wonder if any manager will be saying goodbye to his team at 5pm today 🤔 Or at 2pm tomorrow.

It's a weird timeline, everything pointed to a Eustace appointment yesterday, never materialised and now here we are not knowing what the hell is going on..Perhaps Percy's tweet with a timeline of a non quick process was spot on.. Did it? It was just a shift of a few odds on the betting market. It doesn't mean much. The only thing that matters is when the official site releases a photograph of a new manager shaking hands with Jonty and saying 'managing Stoke has always been my ambition'.

A real bizarre looking fella but a cracking manager. He looks like the grotesque reimagining of Richard D James in the video for Aphex Twin's 'Window Licker'. Ooooooo wooooooo, ooooooo waaaa oooooo, surmises his post match interviews

I keep thinking it’s very JC this one. Tried and failed to get him before as he did with Rowett and Neil. His best work is all a good few years ago now too, something that JC likes. I’m really not a fan of this at all, 3 years ago I’d have been well up for it but not now. He’s a yesterday’s man.

He can't be as hungry as he was either now he's really stepped into the global traveller phase of his management career in Qatar and Russia, with increasingly limited success

Also I think since Putin's invasion of Ukraine that 'recruit for the Russian mafia' look has slipped out of fashion.

Jared was also at Sheffield United with Jokanovic wasn't he? As far as foreigners go, he's a bit too stodgy for my liking these days. One to avoid for me.

Might actually be worth seeing who is sat in the stands at Millwall today, since we play them next. It might give us a clue if it's Lee Carsley or an out of work manager.

Seems like we have no-one in the know the longer this goes on! The board must have a shortlist - who probably haven’t applied and don’t know who to choose from a list they don’t want.
Alex Neil was the one they wanted and look what’s happened there - so put all the names in a bag, pick one out and Bobs your uncle. 😂😂😂

I think the board would explode if Nuno was seen in the stands. Likewise, I think it would also explode if say Bruce was seen in the stands, albeit for a different reason entirely.
