Reading fans loved him though and thought he had a shot at PL football. I thought the worst players were Hoever, Johnson and Travers tbh. Johnson is a fucking joke. Not for the first time this season DJ was having a nightmare. Couldn’t weight some relatively simple through-ball opportunities whilst gifting the opposition with a chance that, had they taken, likely would’ve been the difference between winning and losing yesterday. Settled down in the second half but I don’t think he should’ve made it onto the pitch for the second half. He has been atrocious this season and should become backup to Bae for the rest of his stoke career! DJ is 31. He is always going to be a depreciating asset. Even if he gets back to his peak level from his Preston days, we know it’s not a particularly high peak. Bae is over 10 years his junior and has already shown more than DJ, despite the obvious fact that Bae is a young bloke who’s moved across the world to a completely new league. He is destined for a higher level and we should focus fully on his development; and the best way to do that is by playing him. Bang on. It makes no sense. I thought they’d scored that from his pass yesterday tbh 🤣I was sitting there wondering what the fuck had gone and that the linesman had flagged for offside all whilst calling Johnson every name under the sun. He offers nothing.

Thought his little cameo was much better last night. Wanted the ball, got stuck in straight away and some nice touches.

Did well when he came on for 10 minutes or so last night.
That shouldn't justify him starting on Saturday but I suspect he might.

Having him inject a bit of energy in the last 10 minutes like a latter day Dean Whitehead might be as good as it gets with him at this point.

After an appalling sub appearance v Sunderland he was the exact opposite last night, really made a difference just when our tired team needed it

He's been, rightfully, accused of going into hiding this season but he showed some passion and commitment last night. Perhaps a stint on the bench is what was called for.

Thought he had a decent game last week, back to his normal, lazy self yesterday.Doesn't want to be here and judging by yesterday's performance neither do a few others.

He was outpaced and outmuscled by a 628 year old Barry Bannan.

I'm adding 2+2 and probably getting 5 but I think Laurent is part of the reason Tchamadeau is persona non grata at the moment. I fear junior has been taken under Laurents wing, and it's turned junior into a Billy big bollox. .......this is all conjecture on my part but I just noticed when both were subs together that they were continually acting the goat at HT in games. When players like Gooch, junho look all professional in HT warm ups..

He did fuck all. Not his fault mind. Why the fuck was he playing left wing? Its actually pathetic to play there in that advance left 10 role when Juno , Johnson , Haks , Campbell and even Million could all play ther as left footers its not his issue its jsut pathetic management another self harm issue to prove a point

Great game from him again today.
We have looked so much better and balanced with him in the team than Cundle. Adds physicality to our midfield.

He is really good in the press. His best ever 45 for us was in the Brighton Cup game last season(?). Agreed. He is best of the midfield trio in the press. His anticipation of where the ball is going, and his ability to nick it off the opposition player is really good. Almost created a second goal for Baker. Adds power and ball carrying ability too which is much needed.

I think Burger has been a great captain and seemed to relish it. Not sure how he feels about a bloke who’s no been deff we med good enough to make the team taking the armband from him?
