He’s been a mile off the pace and intensity of the game in each of his 3 outings so far. I would imagine most are a little concerned on his current showings some will be open about that others not. Most are idiots then, it's been three games in a league and country he doesn't know. Give the bloke a chance, not everyone hits the ground running. Probably best for many not to comment on what they've seen so far as so many have a huge problem with changing their mind. Not impressed so far but will be over the moon to change my opinion if he bucks his ideas up.

Nobody is writing him off, just that so far he has been largely underwhelming, I would love him to kick on and be a major player in our season, he may well be, but at present the jury is out.. What were you expecting and why does there need to be a jury at all? He’s not going to get any better if people are going to be on him after three games, two of which he was absolutely fine in. Madness. Who's been on to him? He went off to a wholly undeserved ovation in his first game. There's a world of difference between making observation of a players performances and being on their back. What's madness is this how dare you comment shtick.

How dare people make observations on a player in August it’s preposterous. You said it! He is spot on with his words as well. He hasn't written Mmaee off.

Disgusting to write off a player after 3 games. Exactly let’s not forget Berahino, 10 million was it, Vokes 9 million... He’ll come good I’m positive In which Ryan Mmaee has cost a fraction of the price and has come from a completely different country and different league. I hope he bags a brace today.

Was just thinking the same. Surely if he was on the plane Thursday you'd expect him to be there.

How many times has this fella played right back / right wing back ? According to Transfermarkt, once at right back and 30 odd right midfield which I imagine to be classed as wing back?

He looks very 'Browny' to me but with better technical ability. A perfect foil for Hoever.
His goal return is poor but he looks to have been played all over the pitch and at a much better level than the Championship.

I'm pretty sure that will be his position in our team Pretty sure he will play in multiple positions and primarily off the bench Or he’ll be the anchor on the right hand side to support Hoever’s forward runs. And he’ll be a key part of the press.

I'm pretty sure that will be his position in our team Pretty sure he will play in multiple positions and primarily off the bench I think he will be one of the first names on the team sheet and primarily as a Brown replacement. He has nearly 100 games in Serie A to his name. He isn't coming to sit on our bench.

So he's not a right forward in a 433 then About the same amount of games as a right winger as right “midfield” and one as right back I think he'll be coming in primarily as a wide right midfielder-cum-winger, with the option to be first choice RWB when we go three at the back. Over a third of his games were at RWB last season - he didn't score, but his xG was still 1.2 even from that position which shows he has pace and is a goal threat.

We expecting this one to happen today? Will he need a work permit?
As he's been playing in Serie A and has international caps, I wouldn't think so?

If we go three at the back surely Hoever is first choice wing back? Hoever seemed to find it difficult on Saturday. Strangely he seems to be able to get up and down the field as a full back but was really struggling in the second half. There was a huge gap behind him which they were exploiting. Can't get my head around why that should be except that as full back he has a forward tracking back to help him out. It could have been that Mcnally was playing too central and should have been moving over to cover that space when Hoever was upfield. I don't understand why Watford took that winger off.

I think that was only the third game Hoever has played as WB, and he has been pretty ineffective in all of them. I think Hoever is a better full-back with licence to get forward (TAA-lite if you like), than a RWB. In a back four Hoever would be first choice FB and Léris would still play in front of him as a RW, but when we go three at the back Léris seems to have better pedigree as a RWB.

When he is at full back, he drifts forward and finds space brilliantly. When he's already further forward as wing back, he's easier to pick up and hasn't as much space. You could see on Saturday that Wilmot hardly played any of those cross-field passes to him, whereas against Rotherham he played several. I agree that Mc Nally should have been covering wider. He was far too narrow and I was surprised that so many people thought he was brilliant.
