46 game season + cup games he's had 3 games, so another 7 to go, won't be concerned myself if he's not blazing away v Watford yes I would give him ten games to show something good/worth sticking with, maybe more it's the patience required when signing players from abroad isn't it? if you don't want to do that then don't sign players from abroad but that generally means signing players for lesser ability for more money if you want to sign 'guaranteed' quality you pay top dollar not £2m with add ons Also, if you spend decent money on a player on a long-term contract, he becomes a priority. You have to make him work unless it becomes a huge hinderance. I don’t care about Chiquinho’s progress long term. I do care about Mmaee’s for the next few years. Was talking about Mmaee not Chiq

Mmaee certainly needs more time to get used to this league and to be up to speed, but my God he was terrible against Ipswich. He wasn't the only one though! He obviously shows good things in training as Neil speaks so highly about him.

He obviously shows good things in training as Neil speaks so highly about him. He’s been miles off the pace in each of his games so far. Really can’t see why people beat about the bush in making that observation. He might adapt to the pace and intensity of the championship he might not. There’s no doubt in my mind that we’re carrying him to date.

Sorry I didn’t see your reply above to another poster. So you wait nearly a quarter of the season starting him as the main striker? Surely Chiquinho is expecting starts as a loanee. Campbell will be back before then and Vidigal is performing at a higher level. Then there is the prospect of us splashing the cash on a consistent goalscorer. 46 game season + cup games he's had 3 games, so another 7 to go, won't be concerned myself if he's not blazing away v Watford yes I would give him ten games to show something good/worth sticking with, maybe more it's the patience required when signing players from abroad isn't it? if you don't want to do that then don't sign players from abroad but that generally means signing players for lesser ability for more money if you want to sign 'guaranteed' quality you pay top dollar not £2m with add ons Yet you pay €500,000 for Vidigal who looks to have far more intensity about him even if he hadn’t scored the goals. Better players than Mmaee have come to England and not been able to adapt to the pace and intensity of English football. It may all click into place but initial signs aren’t good pretending otherwise is burying your head in the sand and refusing to see what’s in front of you.

I agree with M'waee, early signs aren't great, he looks a strong lad, but just isn't happening at all so far. Yes he needs time to settle, but we are approaching the realms of carrying a player at present and that can't go on indefinitely.

Saying Mmaee is shit and basically a busted flush after 3 games is pretty ridiculous.
Now, has the poverty version of Jacob Brown turned up yet?

Not sure on MMaee ther have been others it’s been very apparent weren’t suited after similar times , ramadam , Shea , edu , we’re all so obviosuly completely out of there depth to varying degrees , im not saying he is but it won’t take long to find out if he’s an error of judgement completely

And in one he got an assist in a 4 goal victory. Wow....

There’s no doubt in my mind that we’re carrying him to date. From the 3 first games I'd say he was decent against WBA, but certainly not the player Neil speaks about after seeing hin in training. He needs to understand that we defend from the front, and that he won't have ages on the ball in this league. Hopefully we'll soon see the player we thought we bought!

We need to remember it’s not only that they’re trying to adapt to a new league but a new country, surroundings and new team mates and possibly style of football. We write players off too quickly in this country- that’s why we spend so much on transfers and loose money on players more than other countries do. Keep in mind he’s not had a pre season with us also, plus it’s a brand new squad trying to learn how each other play. Let’s not write players and people in general off after five minutes (as that’s the equivalent in football terms here).. a few games is not enough. Yes he’s been off the pace a bit- his first game I thought he showed some flashes of quality.

Mmaee's touches and moves looks good, but he must up to speed, which I think he will with more games. Not to worried at the moment.

Have you had a bet on him doing badly? It’s quite ridiculous to single him out while we’re still in bloody August.

Seen enough in Mmaee to see he can play. Needs time to adjust and once he realises refs won’t be kind to him he will be fine. He’s got a good touch and vision, just the pace and physicality of the game which can all come with time. If he didn’t have the basics I’d be worried, but he does, so I’m not.

I agree to a large extent however intensity is a basic necessity in the championship. He has the tools can/will he put them to good use? I have no idea of the answer and can only speak for what I’ve seen so far.

Nobody is writing him off, just that so far he has been largely underwhelming, I would love him to kick on and be a major player in our season, he may well be, but at present the jury is out..

What were you expecting and why does there need to be a jury at all? He’s not going to get any better if people are going to be on him after three games, two of which he was absolutely fine in. Madness.

Let's judge the new signings after about 10/12, games, we should know by then if they were good signings or not.

As Leris appears to be an underwhelming signing he'll probably end up being decent and a crowd favourite
Looks like he will be the utility player a squad needs Lots of sub appearances
