Ten games or so, would expect more by then Sorry I didn’t see your reply above to another poster. So you wait nearly a quarter of the season starting him as the main striker? Surely Chiquinho is expecting starts as a loanee. Campbell will be back before then and Vidigal is performing at a higher level. Then there is the prospect of us splashing the cash on a consistent goalscorer. 46 game season + cup games he's had 3 games, so another 7 to go, won't be concerned myself if he's not blazing away v Watford yes I would give him ten games to show something good/worth sticking with, maybe more it's the patience required when signing players from abroad isn't it? if you don't want to do that then don't sign players from abroad but that generally means signing players for lesser ability for more money if you want to sign 'guaranteed' quality you pay top dollar not £2m with add ons

Sampdoria's home shirt is one of the best ever. Always been a cracker. Good reason to buy one if he joins. I remember buying an asics one from soccerscene in Carnaby Street about 30 years ago made by asics it was a beauty.

You have to make him work unless it becomes a huge hinderance. I don’t care about Chiquinho’s progress long term. I do care about Mmaee’s for the next few years.

Talking about Mmaee who March has written off He does look a bit shit to be fair. He definitely doesn’t though does he? It’s very easy to see the qualities he has but clearly is going to need time to adapt.

And that's the point I'm trying to make. The lad has done little so far to warrant a place in the starting 11 in spite of the glimpses of promise. Is it fair to keep playing him so that his confidence deteriorates? It isn't always easy to adapt to the different characteristics of a new club or a new country. And if he isn't playing well, it will make things tougher. On the other hand, dropping him, could damage his confidence. Think Arismendi or Sobhi. Could they have been handled better as there was certainly some talent there? This is why tomorrow is a big game for him and could give AN a bit of a headache. Let's hope he has a stormer of a game tomorrow and he goes from strength to strength.

So if I am reading this right, we've got a new player who needs to adapt to the pace of the league and the intricacies of his team mates and the answer to that is to take him off the pitch so he's not playing and put him on the bench.

Mmaee may as well not fucking bother if he's getting a whopping 3 games to be judged on, in a country he's never played in. Let's just send him back to Ferencvaros and claim Distance Selling Regulations.

Talking about Mmaee who March has written off He does look a bit shit to be fair. For balance, when I first saw Marko Arnautovic play for Stoke, I was convinced he'd never played football before. He ended up being one of the favourite players of my Stoke-supporting life.

People with common sense understand some players need time and reserve their judgement for a bit.

He ended up being one of the favourite players of my Stoke-supporting life. I watched Marko in his first home game bringing the ball down from long passes on his thigh in the warm up and I thought 'this guy can play a bit'. I reckon you can generally tell if someone is any good or not in about 10 minutes. The rest is about fitness and attitude.

I see Harry Kane scored one and set up another for Bayern earlier on today. It's interesting to note that Kane's early years as a footballer were far from spectacular and he was derided by many of the supporters of clubs he was loaned to. Now, I'm not saying that this lad will achieve anything approaching what Kane has done but to make a pronouncement that writes him off after only three games is both arrogant and delusional.
