3M would be a great price for him, and a huge victory for the data driven approach to recruitment. nah, it's simply a brain fart by Pisa

There is no official status yet but Pisa has now closed the negotiation for Mehdi Leris positively. The Nerazzurri have reached an agreement with both the player and Stoke City, a club that plays in the Championship. We are talking about figures exceeding three million euros. Three-year contract for the midfielder of the Algerian national team and who played in Italy with Brescia and Sampdoria. Another important addition for Inzaghi while waiting for the negotiation that leads to Gianluca Lapadula to be definitively unblocked. Just hoping Pete Smith doesn't tweet that it's bollocks again

It seems Inzaghi disagrees with you Then again, his work rate is more of a rarity in Italian footie than in the championship. Good business for both parties methinks I don’t see how he can. His output has been abysmal throughout his career. Hence there was something buried in the deeper data that led us to sign him though having managed him before Inzaghi doesn’t have to rely on the data at all. He’ll know why he wants him and I’d be very surprised if he expected his output to suddenly jump significantly. It's almost like not everything in football can't be measured by "output" stats... His work rate is second to none, and he has a tendency to try things that is way above his skill level (and sometimes pulling it off). He's also fairly strong and medium quick, and wins a lot of headers for a player that has been a winger/wingback his entire career. You, of all people, should recognize that his physicality and work rate when playing on the wing makes spece for others to thrive. For Leris, he didn't have any to thrive off of it. If he goes, I'll thank him for his efforts. It's not easy being a foreigner in a new league, learning a new way of playing football and starting his spell under a shit manager. Mehdi Leris will go on to make a difference for Pisa, I'm pretty sure of that.

As a bloke I liked Medhi though. He seemed as honest as the days long and I thought he always did his very best which, personally, I thought just fell short of what we need. The fee is mind-blowing to me. I'd have said 500k tops.

He'll definitely end up in one of those lists of players you can't remember playing for us on here in 10 years or so.

www.pisatoday.it/sport/calcio/samuele-angori-ufficiale-acquisto-pisa-sporting-club.htmlFurthermore, further very positive news arrives from the transfer market: the Algerian Mehdi Leris, authentic joker from midfield, he is one step away from signing. After a close negotiation with English club Stoke City, the Nerazzurri managers managed to find the match. The former Sampdoria and Brescia will arrive in Italy next week to sign the contract that will tie him to the Sporting Club for the next three seasons. A natural right-footed player, he is one of the players specifically asked for by Mr. Inzaghi in the signing list. Born in 1998, his career has taken place exclusively in Italy since the Primavera team. First Chievo, then a period at Juventus before his debut in Serie A with the Clivano team in 2017. Overall, Leris collected 94 tokens in Serie A and 33 in Serie B.

I doubt anyone in the world thought they'd go on to achieve anywhere near what they have done and I really liked Joselu.

It’s literal translation can be the Joker from a pack of cards… so maybe it’s similar to calling someone a wildcard. (Sorry for my ponderings on the Italian language, just interested me 😂)

No bud I agree, but...I do think if we have a chance of a decent fee for him and that would pay for Mcnally, cundle or Hoever etc I would let him go but if not More than happy fopr him to stay as I think he's an honest player.

Obviously if we weren’t so desperate for output and have a number of other players in forward positions who didn’t produce much of it either he might have been perceived differently. We started last season with most of our forward/attacking players with a deficiency of output. I really hope we’re not going to sleepwalk into the same position again.

Mehdi is owrate, not a game changer but hardly the reason for a shit half or match last season. If we can get profit I'd cash in. If we can't get rid use em as a squad player. Good position for us.
