At a wedding so haven't had chance to keep an eye on stoke much today, but incredibly happy to see Leris and Jojic signed up today. This club may just finally be going places after years of stagnation. Improvements off the pitch and importantly on it. What an exciting time to be a Stoke fan!

Is that Serbian for ‘shut your face March’? It would be understandable if it was.

Hi guys, Serbian guy hear. First of all, many of you have asked here and on twitter about the pronounciation of his name. Jojić is pronounced roughly as Yoyich. O is short and more like o in optic than like o in Yo!. Ić(ich) is the standard Serbian name suffix and the ch part is pronounced like c in italian ciao and not lick tch in butcher. Nikola is pronounced like Nicholas without the s. Hope it helps and I hope it's written in a way that is understandable Jojic is coming to Stoke from a club that's usually either midtable or in the lower end of Serbian league and this is by far their biggest transfer in history. The town where his club is from has around 3k people and the stadium can host around 6k people, although the stadium is usually very far from being full. I'm saying this as I think you'll have to be very patient with him, because, playing in such big crowds like he will be playing in England will be a huge change. On top of that, he's very young and this will be his first time moving out of Serbia. As a player, he's capable of playing on either wing or as a "number 10". He's, direct, fast and skilful. Loves to shoot, but also to cross. He was a surprise inclusion in our youth national team for many that didn't know he's quality or haven't seen him before. He's a very humble,,nice, hardworking guy and I'm sure that if you give him time, once he adapts to living and playing in a new country he'll be a star. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask. P.S. Username I picked is how you spell and pronounce Stoke City in Serbia Welcome aboard

We really don't know how these players will get on so I'm keeping my excitement to a minimum. It really could go either way but after years of league 1 signings it can't really get worse.

It's like dumping some unadventurous frump you've been with for years through habit for some hot European chick. The sex will be amazing but she'll probably be completely crazy, sleep around and end up breaking your heart. But you'll still love her 😀

I don't really support any team in particular, but I do watch Serbian league in order to find out about our talented players. I also closely follow our player abroad, which can be quite difficult sometimes as there's a lot of them I could for sure reccomend some cheap (cheapish) players, not sure which positions do you need though.

Promising, Young, Serbs usually good work ethic, nice to see the “ new approach “ seemingly taking us in the right direction.

If Carlsberg did transfer windows..... Could be an “if dom perignon” or “if Tesco value” but I’m hopeful having seen how it’s gone so far. It’s genuinely exciting for the first time in memory and I’m grateful that the powers that be have taken such a different approach

Looked pretty fast, kept wanting the ball to feet and also made some good runs behind.
The big black lad marking him left one on him, but he did ok.

Mid to long term project IMO. Looks very slight in build but very nippy. Good movement and looks to have a decent brain on him. Not enough time on the pitch to judge really.

I think he’s gone under the radar with the double announcement but I think he’s definitely the one we’re expecting the least from in the short term.
Looking forward to see how he develops.

Wasn’t expecting to see him so soon to be honest given what was said when he arrived. Depending on who’s fit he might get on the bench again at the weekend. Certainly did some nice bits with the ball and never stopped moving, it might just take some time for it all to click.

He's had an interesting start, playing in a 10-1 defeat then a 6-1 win.

Nice to see him get a chance not so long after he arrived, even if in a cup. Thought he showed his quality in flashes in the short time he was on the pitch. But I'll repeat what I already said, I hope you'll be patient with him(it seems like Neil is). He's a very young lad and it's his first time leaving his country. He doesn't speam English really well and he's coming from a club that comes from a town with 3k people. He'll need time to adapt.
P.S. Congrats on a win and amazing perfomance!

Anyone know what has happened with Nikola Jojić? He's not been near the 1st team, he's obviously been deemed 'not ready', did we really pay £1.4m for someone to sit in the reserves? questions need to be asked, that money needs investing in 1st team players as it's clearly weak in several areas.

Considering we needed depth in other positions for the first team this transfer does seem abit odd. Hes not really featured and if he was pulling up trees in the u21s or what ever surely we would be hearing it.
Just looks another poor bit of business. Perhaps next season he will go out on loan who knows.
