On that display he’s not what we’d call a traditional centre forward.
I said earlier watching his promotional video he scored goals from the inside left/right positions (be fed the ball) and comfortable with either foot

He looks like needs a few games to bed in, get upto the pace of the game and on the wavelength of his team mates, some intelligent runs and balls, but clear miscommunication a few times.
Surprised what a unit he is - until I saw the sheer size of Wesley!😁

Agree with others who think he reminds them of Maja. Think he offers alot more than maja tbh based on what I saw yesterday, linked play well in the first half and was a focal point - unlucky not to score when he was fed in behind in that first half.

I think that he should have buried that. Their keeper did quite well with that chance, to give him some credit, and it was a lovely nutmeg just prior. Overall, I thought he looked a little lost in the game at times but not sure we can expect much more given the context. Clearly a talented guy, and will offer even more with increased game and training time as he gets fully up to speed.

Stoke fans in judging after one game shocker! I actually think the assessment has been pretty fair for once. Don't think anyone has written him off which is a first.

He will score goals if he gets chances. Will be nice to have different options up front who offer different things.
You definitely get the impression that he would do well alongside Wesley but obviously we won’t be playing two up front that often. At least gives us the option to mix things up.

He says his name in his intro vid 👍 It sounds like ‘my-er’ to me.

Looked a little off the pace yesterday, which is totally understandable, but, most importantly, he never hid, which would have been so easy to do. As long as he pulls on that shirt he will be a hero in my book

Looked a little off the pace yesterday, which is totally understandable, but, most importantly, he never hid, which would have been so easy to do. As long as he pulls on that shirt he will be a hero in my book I agree. He was probably surprised at how closely he was marked and the speed of defenders to react to a threat in the Championship. He will no doubt improve, he's an international and there are very few rubbish internationals these days. I liked the way he got into scoring positions and the way he tipped the ball past a defender before the third goal was magic. So far I'm impressed with every acquisition Neil has made. Unlike our last 3 managers. Question: Can we just call him Ryan or that not allowed at Stoke?

I'm sure when he signed the club said it was pronounced 'me' but the announcer seemed uncertain as to whether to call him 'Maa' or 'Miy'. You'd think he'd take the time to find out.

It's My-A. Or My-Eh. And he's going to be wonderful. And tempestuous. There's quite a few egos in that front line now. If they can keep a harmonious tune (Ie. sometimes you will be subbed!) they will be fantastic.

Surely it's pronounced, "Our Ryan"?
That first name has been good to us.

He says it exactly as it's written to be honest. 3 phonemes - a slightly lengthened MM sound, then A as in apple and a long E sound as in the beginning of the word air. Which approximates to Mma-eh in English.

Looks a good player maybe needs to play along side Wesley to take some of the weight of him. Not sure how tha would affect the line up.Also need a commanding centre back.

Oh I'm scraping the bottom of the barrell here too but how about an adaptation of Swannee to the tune of My-Eh ....
(sorry about my technical skills here ... hope the link works!)
