Based on what ince cost us and the return in investment we received
As a comparison, he looks decent
I think last season was obvious we couldn’t create openings against teams that sit back. The more technical players we have the better
May be early, but I’m already more optimistic about home games this season. Also think away games will be deliver more Sunderland Coventry types

His career does look very patchy Had a decent half season in the Dutch 2nd division for Fortuna Sittard, but didn't make it in the Dutch first division when they went up, or when he was loaned out to Cyprus. Scored 6 goals in the Portuguese Div 2 on another loan, then moved to his current club. Only managed 1 goal and 3 assists in his first season there But had a bit of a breakthrough last season with 8 goals, albeit in a relegation campaign for his club. And his first decent season in any top league Not a lot to hang your hat on for a player who'll be 25 next month, so no longer a youngster, especially with acclimatisation issues that'd come with the move. But if it's only 500k and he's potentially an option from the bench, it's not a huge gamble in the scheme of things and is maybe a reflection of where we are. But if he does come, you'd hope there's another wide option on the agenda to push Campbell and Brown more for starts Aged 23 at the start of his break through season isn't a completely crazy age? I mean I don’t know the first thing about him but I don’t overly see age as an issue here. If his stats are performances were good enough at 23/24, I don’t think it’s a stick to beat him with that it’s taken him a few years to find his feet. |

Unfair to be too harsh with regards to age. Slight red flags about his lack of performance at any level of note until last year though, and then there's all the acclimatisation problems of adapting from Madeira to Stoke! I'm always a sucker for foreign signings (aren't we all?) so hopefully he shines |

From his background, it seems like he will be a fairly cheap squad player. We do need wide players that can stretch defenders.

This seems like a no lose signing to me....if he is good then you say we found a gem.
If he is crap we barely spent anything on him.
Seems the sort who might need a bit of time to settle though..good luck with that with our fanbase. You'll get 10 minutes to prove yourself and that's all our fans give you

If they think he's the best we can do on our budget, with so many other things needed, got to back them. But it all seems to be based on his one good season at a decent level last season Portuguese international (well U21) wearing a No7 shirt, what's not to like?  |

2 year deal with an option for a 3rd seems about right , not much of an outlay so seems another good deal , can see him coming off the bench to try change a game 😁

Isn't the whole point of a moneyball/ Data driven approach that it turns up players like this? It would be a waste of everyone's time if it just said 'the answer is Jack Clarke (or similar)' to the question 'find me a championship winger'

A poor mans Fosu Does seem strange that we ditched Fosu in Jan and made no attempt to replace him like-for-like, but we’re now bringing in a player who (on the face of it) offers similar width. Good to see us fishing outside of the usual pool if nothing else. |
