Seeing the two young CB’s last night I’m a lot less surprised we let the other two Baker/Okabue? go both looked robust in the challenge and confident with the ball at feet. Proper modern CB’s.

The match at Leek was an interesting and entertaining watch. Stoke started somewhat lethargically but after about 10 minutes upped the tempo and settled into a good rhythm of passing and pressing completely dominating the rest of the half. They forced loads of corners but Leek defended resolutely and Visser in the Leek goal was hardly troubled. The best chance of the half fell to Leek with one of their rare attacks - ex Stokie Ollie Shenton hitting the post after some neat approach play.
Jojic came on at the start of the second half and ran about enthusiastically for about 15 minutes then pretty much disappeared. Lowe should have put Stoke ahead but failed to get a good enough contact on a gilt edged chance and Visser was able to save.
On the hour Stoke brought on their remaining substitutes as did Leek. In Stoke's case the subs weakened the team and in Leek's they strengthened the team. Tyreece Onyeka simply tore the Stoke right side to pieces with his pace and skill and scored an excellent goal within three minutes of coming on. After that Leek looked the likelier side and saw the match out comfortably.
On this performance I really couldn't see any indication that Jojic has a future as a footballer at any level in the EFL. Perhaps time will prove otherwise.
On the positive side I thought that Lowe looked very strong and his ability to keep possession and pick out a teammate was excellent.

Perhaps a loan back to Serbia or somewhere with less stringent WP rules would be more likely, maybe Ireland? |
