Hes right though.
When we started spunking tens of millions on mercenaries like imbula, berahino, etc then the dressing room is lost and that has an knock on effect with team spirit, determination and effort.
Our fall from a hard working, die for the cause, 110% effort team to half arsed, 10%, only there for the paycheck relegation car crash was clear to see.
Whether he could have changed that is difficult to say, but the writing was on the wall before that when the Pulis spine wasn't replaced.

Adam, Johnson and Crouch can fuck off as far as I'm concerned.
All senior pro's who did nothing about this so-called "toxic" environment apart from gob off about it after the event...........

The experienced pros could and should have done more but it comes down to the manager if you ask me. Manager sets the standard and the tone.
Speaking of Tone, TP would have nutted saido in the shower if he was causing that disruption. It was TP himself who sold saido to us I think wasn't it?
All signings should have research done on their attitudes. We still have the same problem now, all the talent in the world and not a pair of bollocks between them most weeks. Cracking squad but they can't be arsed.

Well it's a bit fucking late for that now Peter, isn't it?
If you'd have got off of your arse and done something about it there and then, along with likes of Adam and Johnson, maybe we wouldn't be pissing around where we are in 2022.
Quite easy to talk about now where there's 0 consequence.

Have always felt....what were the senior pros doing when all this was going on..
I would add shawcross to the list, senior pro, club captain, should of sorted a few out in the dressing room..
Sounds like the wasters had free rein to destroy the dressing room with very little to stop them. Management not interested. Senior pros sat quietly in the corner.

There weren't many bigger mercenaries than Peter Crouch in my opinion. He was as culpable as any other player for the malaise and his continued attempts to almost absolve himself from blame are tiresome in the extreme.

Hughes was ultimately to blame but I just don't get why Crouch and the rest of em didn't just kick the living shit out of berahino! That's what would have happened in any dressingroom I've been involved in!

A club wont hold any standards
The manager wont hold any standards
The players wouldnt hold any standards between themselves
The fans supported all of them to the hilt, as they line their pockets and local people lose jobs
The only two who I genuinely think it hurt were Shawcross and Butland. The rest were nothing short of a disgrace between them, and the re-writing of history by all parties after is just as bad.
I wouldnt recommend watching his interview as I was seething after his few comments about Stoke, rarely has anything positive to say about the club considering we bent over backwards for him other than the dressing room was good once.
His comments and reactions are very telling and says a lot about him as a man, person and player.

So here we are, six or seven years on and it still appears to be toxic, with players apparently not trying, giving up and basically taking the p*ss out of the paying supporters. Different players, different managers, different CEO and yet it persists. So what the hell is the problem, because it is really upsetting for the vast majority of supporters? And I just cannot see how this can be an owners problem, unless they are so lax, they allow such crap to go on unpunished. Maybe they need to make a real example of one or two of these over paid, under performing prima donnas, who call themselves professional footballers. And there would appear to be quite a few to choose from. Just sack the barstewards for not doing the job they are paid for. Sick of it, week after week, season after season.

An honest comment from an honest player who always gave his best.
There's plenty of people who let us down, but he wasn't among them, beats me why there are people on here have it in for him. Jealous or just bitter? Sad really.

Adam was the worst of the worst. I don’t go to many games so it’s a big deal when I can and will never forget him playing the fool with Berahino when they supposed to be warming up. It happened right in front of me. I wouldn’t be surprised if he wasn’t the player who stopped trying when we were three down. I was at the Stoke vs Orlando game too and saw similar behavior especially Wollscheidt who was a joke. It wasn’t a total waste of a trip because the pre-match booze up was great and we met several Oaties.

Pulled that one from your arse haven't you? Johnson, Adam etc routinely blamed it exclusively on the Jeses and Imbulas. Disappointing you pluralised your Jeses and Imbulas but left your Johnsons and Adams as singular. If they'd all pulled their fingers out we'd still be playing your Liverpools and your Man Citys instead of your Rotherhams and your Lutons
