This horrific incident might be a one off, amongst many other one offs. It is one the child's family could have done without For me when people say " He/ she " has been in the uk for 20 years, or they are second or third generation, I think that adds to the problem. Thee are many immigrants who are second, third generation, but have either integrated or found their identity as one of the multi cultures, living peacefully and tolerantly, alongside other cultures BUT unfortunately there does seem to be a number oof our people who don't sit comfortably within the wider culture.IMO.( which isn't to label all recent immigrants as a threat) When you are second, third or fourth generation then you are no longer an immigrant. We would all be immigrants if that wasn't the case. It's an incredibly low bar but Britain is the least racist country in the world. Our multi-cultured society for the most part has worked. The leader of our country, as deplorable as he is, is the son of immigrants. The situation on our South coast is far from ideal but people get so hateful, when we should celebrate our strengths. Yes I agree with that entirely Tommy, especially that generally tge uK is tolerant. When people refer to immigration they usually mean the recent history, Historically of course the picture is " complicated " The point I am making, is there are different degrees of " living together ", multiculturalism or/ and degrees of integration, a different concept. In my opinion, there are some Immigrants, two or three generations back who may not have integrated ( or lived tolerantly as a multi cultural group ) compared to previous Immigrants, so they may not be categorised as "Immigrants " in the usage of tge word/ concept ( having been hear a while), but the integration/ multicultural tolerance still applies |

That is not the definition of an invasion, unless you are saying that all of the immigrants are hostile and want to take control of the country, or that the refugees are unpleasant or lastly that they are "invading" your privacy. Now none of these are actually true are they? It doesn't matter if they're 'all' hostile or not, it takes one of them to cowardly slaughter people as we've just seen, it's common place where they come from, they're a different breed, they shouldn’t be here at all. They dont share our values, at all. All these people championing these Islamic entering the country and criticising the people who have their eyes wide open will be the ones cowering behind their sofas when the shit really does hit the fan. Different breed? You really are showing your true colours now aren't you. A woman was killed recently as a result of an arguement that started at Glastonbury. Did people claim that people who go to Glastonbury don't share our values and riot in protest at their presence in the community? No. Why? Because it would be idiotic to generalise about a whole group of people from an individual incident. The threat on the streets of Dublin isn't from immigrants, Islamic or otherwise, it's from right wing tossers looking for any excuse to kick off and drawing in whoever they can to stir things up. It isn't migrants straining at the leash to create the rivers of blood it's you and your fellow travellers. I'm not scared of migrants and if it does kick off they won't be the ones throwing the shit. That will be your lot and you don't scare me either. This tragic event won't be the start of the conflagration you and your fellow travellers are hoping for. I'll put money on it being marked by the Irish people and the migrant community coming together in sympathy for the victims of this awful crime and showing the rioters up for what they are - a bunch of fuckwits. |
