Renewables are producing 53.7% of the power required at this moment in time, this is the peak demand period usually. Live updates here - grid.iamkate.com/Actually. Electricity is only a smallish part of a countries energy requirements so it’s not the whole story. But yeah renewables do and will provide a large part of the solution. Personally I'd build the turbines, solar panel mounts, batteries etc out of hemp and capture a load of C02 while making a superior, longer lasting product. But we'll probably carry on digging stuff up.

My first and possibly last comment on this Fred
Are these Activists still Dorks or now Realists in light of current Heatwaves in Europe and US or is the intensity and frequency of these Heatwaves something that we should have no concern for.

You mean heatwaves in the middle of summer like they've had for thousands of years? Got to love how when it's a typically shit wet British summer, those in certain sections of the propaganda machine quickly divert attention to other parts of Europe in an attempt to scare Brits shitless. Thankfully most Brits are intelligent enough to continue enjoying their holidays, safe in the knowledge that it's always steaming in the Mediterranean in July - The very reason they've chosen to go on holiday. Fuck green dorks. A bunch of absolute dweebs who should be doing what ordinary teenagers and twenty somethings do - Stuff like travelling, playing sport, earning cash, drinking, fucking and having a good time. They are a noisy minority that most Brits despise and even the centre left (which is sadly the entirety of Parliament) are starting to distance themselves from - Probably recognising it isn't a vote winner.

Here’s a question. Do most people know they can invest in Green energy for as little as a hundred quid and (probably) make an ok return?

Pollution is a problem. CO2 isn't. In climate con propaganda, billowing smoking chimneys are used to highlight CO2 emissions. CO2 is not a pollutant, is clear, odourless, and essential for all life on the planet. All smoke contains Carbon Dioxide and most flue gases contain 10-25% CO2. Car exhaust is about 14% for petrol engines. Excess CO2 makes the planet hotter. There is no excess CO2, and CO2 does not make the planet hotter.

Like if I was a hardcore environmentalist* I’d probably put my energy and resources towards trying to sole the problem. Invest in the technologies that might help rather than just slowing down traffic and blarting on social media. *I’m a moderate environmentalist.

There is no excess CO2, and CO2 does not make the planet hotter. CO2 does make the planet hotter. It is a 'greenhouse gas' which retains heat radiated from the earth in a way that oxygen and nitrogen does not. The more CO2 there is in the atmosphere the more heat is retained.

That's what the school textbook says. There is currently 0.04% CO2. Most of which is naturally occurring, as only about 3-4% of this 0.04% comes from human sources. The planet's greenhouse gas is water vapour. This greenhouse effect is also crucial to life on earth. It's a scam, it's always been a scam. It was planned as a scam to restrict and enslave the masses. Controlled media machine has now gone into another gear.

Haven't read the thread My question was prompted by the now annual excess heat breaking new records each year, forest fires etc. Not much sunbathing and fucking would be quite a challenge, especially at my age. Just on this page the amount of ignorence displayed confirms my previous suspicions .... not a place for me.

However as the safe level of C02 in the atmosphere is considered to be 0.035% then we have a problem - particularly as is is increasing and we are simultaneously depleting the natural resources that absorb CO2 - meaning that the naturally occurring CO2 is also being retained in the atmosphere. I know you like your scams and conspiracies - perhaps you should spend a bit of time looking at who's been funding the climate denial lobby.

This will briefly explain it. The graph you use is so broad in its timescale it doesn't show the nuance. Such a scale will obviously propagate the hoax. Very useful for the scam.

Patrick Moore was never a co-founder of Greenpeace although he often claims he was. Not a good start. He has also (since he became a "consultant") been paid by the Canadian Mining Company and Exxon Mobil. Why do you believe him ? Anyway I didn't ask you to post me another video. I want you to explain the science in a way one scientist would to another. Provide the evidence and some peer review and then I can decide to join your crusade. I'll understand I have an MSc in Physics. Just explain to me how it works. At the moment you are just posting videos from your social media feed. You do know twitter, YouTube etc. Just send more of the same content that you last watched don't you?

For the last 800,000 years the range of CO2 gas been 170-300ppm.
If CO2 lags heat, where is the temperature spike in the last 800 years that means CO2 is now at 420ppm?
CO2 is now higher than at any time in the last 800,000 years so where is the unprecedented spike in heat that caused it?

If you want to consider profiteering, have a look at Al Gore and his ilk. So you want me to write a scientific paper and bibliography just for you? As far as I see, I can't see anyone else having done this on here. Can't see this board lasting long with such a prerequisite for posts. As we both have done post-grad study, I know you'll be well aware of the basics of study. If you want to set about it on this topic, feel free.
