I can’t stand AN. He’s full of himself and speaks in platitudes as if he invented them. Reminds me of Jones in his arrogance and belief that the players just need to try harder, while steadfastly sticking to a system that does not suit the players, and yields pathetically bad performances.
We are 20th, and lucky to be there. We are about to play the best team in the league, and could fall into the bottom three if two teams below us win their games in hand. In the last 3 games we have somehow shown less attacking intent and strategy as we did under MON, with the same leaky and unreliable defence. He is steering us toward relegation, but will blame the mentality of the players as we continue to drop points instead of adjusting his tactics because he is so sure he is brilliant, and it couldn’t possibly be he has not adequately done his job.

He's already proved in previous job he's a capable manager so it's not a surprise he's confident he can get it right. He's sticking to the system due to injuries, if he carries on with an ineffective system when most of them are back then that's the time to be overly critical. And the players do need to try harder, their lack of effort for the most part has been pathetic, so little fight in them, it needs to change.

I'm not a fan either for similar reasons but we have to try and give him a chance. Burnley was a good defensive performance so at least that's an improvement.

Trying to remember the last time I enjoyed a stoke match as much as that

Different yes....It might be slowly changing but it is!
And quick question out of curiosity. Out of all the "situations vacant" that have come up since MON departure, unless their is something in the terms of his dismissal I haven't seen him being linked with any other jobs in the football league. If Im wrong then I am happy to be corrected

Last week was a disaster this week we’ve been brilliant, let’s all calm down and hope for some consistent performances.
This place is mad one week we’re getting relegated and the next we are winning the league.
We’ve been here before with MoN, let’s hope we now see consistently better performances

Excellent today. The crazy world of the Championship.
A settled team/formation and some consistency and momentum is what’s required now……

We're defensive.. we're organised..we're playing a system which at this point suits the players..we look like we're trying..wre finally creating chances.. we're starting to show the dark arts..we're winding opposition layers up..and we're picking up points....and I love it.

Credit where credits due I couldn’t watch it today but sounded like a cracking game and performance. Hopefully it’s not just a one off and we can push on from here

Jesus give the bloke time. Three defeat week amd the pressure will build in the crowd and dressing room making Preston Rotherham and Coventry mentally very demanding fixtures and all three will fancy themselves against our dispirited rabble those go badly and it’s a unthinkable situation LOL

Playing different formations and different tactics depending on who is play is excellent, in my opinion he is light years ahead of the previous few managers and it will be more effective when we get most of the players back

The World Cup could be a massive bonus for us. Shouldn’t lose any players to it (maybe Souttar) and will give the chance for a mini pre-season allowing his ideas to work through

When Rowett and Jones spouted out, my reaction was " I hope you can live up to those brave words".As it happened they couldn't, although to be fair to Jones he did achieve at Luton and went back and showed he can manage in the right circumstances. MON was far more reserved and maybe too much of a gentleman to be successful in the tough environment of the Championship. He clearly was out of his depth, although most managers would have struggled with what he inherited, the problems of the pandemic, financial constraints, and injuries to key players. But his main failing was no Plan B. AN has a huge job as well, but he has achieved repeated promotions. But he is clearly a lot more about him than Rowett and Jones and will bite a lot harder than MON anyone who is backsliding. He clearly has a Plan B and a Plan C, time will tell whether he has the talent in the squad to restore success. There is a lot more of the "Pulis" about him without the negative football. My only reservation is he will be off if a bigger club comes calling. West Brom for example. (That'll provoke a reaction ) Today's first half was a joy to watch and almost had a touch of the Stokalona. Second half was a grind, like Wednesday, but showed the team has some grit at last. Success will breed self confidence, increase resolve, and generate team spirit.
