Where is MON? Anybody else find it weird he's not done any TV, Radio or Newspaper interviews etc? Not linked to any jobs either which I have found surprising. Would of thought his name would of been linked to one of the more recent vacancies that have become available, Rotherham would have been my guess.. WBA tried to poach him from N.Ireland a year or so before we did, perhaps he knows Bruce's days are numbered and will apply for that job should it become available?!

His stock's fallen dramatically since then though. Imagine it'll be back to the NI job or somewhere in Scotland next.

As much as I wanted AN to have the Steve Cooper impact, the reality is that this season was a write off before it began as I thought it would be in March of this year if MON was given the summer window. Just shockingly bad running of the club. I did actually believe MON should’ve gone at the end of the 2020/21 season, but that’s another debate.
I’m more confident that AN will come good than MON would, he’s just got a mountain of shite players with shite attitudes to climb through first. Knowing our incompetent board they will probably do the exact opposite of giving managers time and sack him after 6 months just as green shots of recovery start to appear.

He'd suit Rotherham in the Championship down to a tee. He may see himself as above them though?

Shite players with shite attitudes? There is no evidence that the players we have now compare with the wastrels we had on our books when we got relegated and individually we have some decent players at this standard. I'm seeing some players lacking confidence, others returning from injury and all of them struggling to adapt to a new style of play and persisting in the hoodoo of making stupid individual errors all of which is addressable given time.

Where is he from? Not from Oxford, that's for sure. Checked it out: Belshill, Scotland. That explains it. As a swede I have trouble following the interviews.

I like AN and wish him well
But if he sticks with a back 5 ,he is living in yesterday and flirting with relegation
Fashion changes in football and I think 4 2 3 1 and 4 3 3 are going to be the systems favoured by the more successful teams this season
Besides , we don't have a clue how to play 5 at the back , so frankly, why bother?

Was AN having ago at MON, when he said the club has no real wide players?

Its worrying to hear AN play the 'injury card' so early in his reign. Yes we have a lot of injuries but thats football sometimes you have a few, sometimes more. The best managers never use the injury excuse.
Tonights game is massive for us. Win and it, and wipe out the memory of Watford, it could be the start of something, lose and I think we're set for a relegation battle.

Think it'd be harsh to suggest that based on the back of 2 games against relegated sides. Would be nice not to be languishing around 20th though!

He obviously needs time but I'm always sceptical when a manager leaves a good job at a club where he's doing well and loved, simply for more money.
It always reminds me of Owen Coyle at Burnley when he went to Bolton 🥵
Clearly, Nathan Jones also springs to mind.
These are dark days facing the club, make no mistake about it.

Because you were calling for Wilder to get the Stoke job like a one sentence parrot,, And I'd still have Wilder over the previous manager. But- again- that has nothing to do with the topic being discussed in this thread, you clown 🙂 EDIT ,,,

Because you were calling for Wilder to get the Stoke job like a one sentence parrot,, Wanting a much needed change of manager is how I remember it.. whether it was the exact name being called for is hardly relevant.

Games are won in defence. Even though we didn't keep a cleansheet today, I thought we defended very well.
If he can organise the defence like he did today then we may have something to build from.
Obviously need to work on other areas too but that defensive display was a good start.
