Definitely suggests that. And tbh I don’t get why the journos would make it up. Seems a strange thing to do. To be fair, getting sacked then coming home and burying my face in those wabs would cheer me up no end! She could breastfeed a crèche with those.

Lovely stuff from the popular fella from Swinton but Bristol City manager to Stoke City assistant manager to blowing smoke up Brentford's arse as a random guest must feel like a downward trajectory.

Could he have done this stuff while in role? And help implement it while he was here? That would have actually been useful.

I’m guessing you’ve taken Dean’s tweet as a subtle dig at our club and it’s put your nose out of joint a bit. Fair enough, I can see why you might have thought that. And if it was a dig, so what… he’s right. The culture at our club stinks from top to bottom and just one day at Brentford must’ve been a breath of fresh air after what he’s witnessed at our club over just a year-and-a-half. I wish Dean nothing but the best. Hope he bags a decent manager’s job in League One or Two so he can have another crack at it. I suspect he’s a bit too nice to be a manager mind.

Ouch. So he couldn't say, "Just like being at Stoke." ?

Ouch. So he couldn't say, "Just like being at Stoke." ? Given he was probably directly or indirectly responsible at Stoke for pretty much everything he sat in on at Brentford, then I don't think he would be best advised to mention Stoke. I'd be pretty embarrassed at running to Social Media praising Brentford for their coaching and game debriefing when I had just been given the sack at another club, where I was a big part of the training and debriefing. High performance indeed, Dean! #thickasmince

In fairness he was 'Assistant Manager', only John Coates, MON and possibly Richard Thingamy would have had more power to stop the club from 'stinking'. Can he really just wash his hands of the whole thing? I don't think so. He is for sure a nice man. NB Apologies, I just noticed the Onlooker made the same point only more articulately above!

This is a tweet that says "I'm keeping busy, broadening my horizons, I'm available and I'm the man for the job if you have one" I wouldn't read too much into it personally......

In his role he surely provides ideas to the manager around what’s best for the club? Wasn’t the 3ATB a Dean Holden Masterclass? I’m not digging him out, but I’m sure there would have been opportunity for him to do this in season to turn our fortunes around.

Well if he was here, the club would be asking why he's at Brentford and not in the Stoke dugout working with his own team. Dean is a top bloke and not the problem at Stoke. I haven’t said he was the problem, coaching if football ‘skill share’ all the time. I doubt the club would have had a huge issue if we was doing something innovative to try and stop the rot and find out what a club with an upward trajectory is doing different.

At the MK Dons game tonight. They're currently 2 wins 1 draw 5 losses.
If their manager gets the sack, may be worth a cheeky bet on Holden going there.

Think thats a really astute appointment. Really interesting time at Exeter and a manager I wouldn't have minded us going for when we replaced MON.
