It doesn't feel like it now, and it does nothing to ease the pressure on the manager from certain quarters, but it could be a blessing in disguise with regards to fixture congestion in the run up to the WC. I'm not convinced our recent, decent form in recent years in this cup has actually done us any favours. Understand what you’re saying, but there’s no excuses for not coming through this tie tonight against them

To me, the manager talks it up as winning the game, carrying on momentum from the weekend. It’s bollocks, he hasn’t got a fucking clue and when I start getting angry about a game of football summats up. He needs to be sacked otherwise we will be far closer to relegation than promotion. The players pulled the useless fucker out of the shit at the weekend. He simply has to go I am not convinced MON should stay but your arguments lack any logic. When we lose at Millwall and again tonight it's all down to the manager, we beat Blackpool and it was all down to the players! He’s a shit manager the players turn up now and again. Sometimes they can’t be arsed sometimes they can like Blackpool. Winning games is nothing to do with the manager

Have we got the worst "supporters" in the leagues. Totally fed up with the constant whining! We put out an almost reserve side tonight! Yes it hurts when I see us lose but we didn't look like losing in the ninety minutes. No hope of winning this trophy! Get focused on supporting our side in the league and stop looking for every opportunity to slate players and manager. We’ve got supporters who proudly expect us to beat 10 man Morcambe in a competition that is our only major trophy. If O’Neill thinks this shit is acceptable then he needs to get the fucking sack Absolutely shattered! The attitude of the negative people on here is nothing to do with "pride"?????

Yeah it’s just all rather unconvincing still isn’t it. I’ll give MON until Halloween and then it’s decision time from the Board. Let’s hope we “do a Forest”…

Good question Lakeland and one I have no idea of? I'm guessing they would start from number one taker? I always though we had to drop one from our list so it's 10 v 10. should have dropped fox ... job done

Didn’t we hit the post multiple times? I don’t care about this competition, league is a priority. Seems like it’s potentially another nail in the coffin of O’Neil perhaps. Looking at the stats seems like we just didn't create enough clear cut edge chances

So don't assume that sacking 'incompetence' as you call it will automatically mean it won't be replaced by equal or worse amounts of incompetence...

OK we lost on pens. But how did we play tonight, were we crap, or were we decent? First half we were slow in possession, 2nd half we zipped it around a bit more even before the sending off. They played 4-5-1 and 10 players barely moved from their defensive positions but we didn’t really stretch them until the sending off. The less said about Fox’s penalty the better…..

This is bang on the money. Our 5th season in the Championship and not once have we managed to build that precious commodity momentum. We’ve actually done alright in the league cup in the previous two seasons, which never seemed to have helped our league position. Saturday is a completely different kettle of fish whether we won or lost tonight. If we won tonight and got hammered on Saturday, are you suggesting the fervent MON out mob will have taken tonight into account? All I am saying is we only play in 3 competitions. It's early August, we had a 'gimme' draw in one of them and yet incredibly now we are only left with 2 competitions. To say I am pissed off is an understatement!

No it doesn't but why would you stick with someone that isn't cutting it just in case, its backwards thinking.

No it doesn't but why would you stick with someone that isn't cutting it just in case, its backwards thinking. You're asking someone who doesn't make decisions. I don't make the rules, I simply look, listen and comment on them. The better question would be something along the lines of 'Why have we consistently been in decline under the new ownership/directorship structure that was put in place circa 2017?' in the rough direction of the family that own us....

I know, I too am interested in the xG stats, my guess is you would lose a match about 1 in 100 times with xG stats like that, yet somehow we did, which has been the story of our lives for 5 seasons now. Winning 'against the head' with poor xG stats was kind of our stock in trade under Tony Pulis in those bat shit crazy early days in the Prem. Now its getting done to us. I just feel my heart sink as we crazily exit 1 of only 3 competitions we take part in and its still the middle of summer. Massively pissed off toninght!

One thing at a time eh, although it would be a good time to sort it, sack MON get in a DOF and go from their. Failing that sack MON and get a new man in then at least work towards a better/new set up.
