Good result, great fightback, but we're just so far behind Ireland, France, and no doubt NZ, Aus, and SA by the time the World Cup starts. Big mistake not to sign Shaun Edwards, and Eddie really needs replacing ASAP. I wouldn't say we're behind Australia, we usually have their number. But can't argue with the others right now

I think the World Cup will be his last hurrah I'm half convinced though he's doing a "rope a dope" and it'll be OK come the tournament. I watch this squidge rugby fella on YouTube and he thinks Jones has something up his sleeve. Based on past performance.

I'm struggling to believe he isn't "saving" his performances for the World Cup at least I hope he is because we have enormous talent.

The YouTube lad (Wales fan) thinks Jones builds up very deliberately even if it doesn't work out before the World Cup. Here's his chat:

I can't see any side that doesn't at least challenge for that title doing anything in the WC. Agree that both Ireland and France look far more capable sides. With home advantage I quite fancy France to go close to winning the WC. Having had the blues away last year we've got them all at home this time and a win against France might dent their confidence a bit. Big six nations coming up.

Runner up group C so Australia should top so maybe Wales next up in QF get complicated after that 😀 www.rugbyworldcup.com/2023/matches

Who are Ireland likely to face in a QF? They've never won a knock out match at the WC so it could be a psychological block and, let's be honest, if they don't next year they never will.

They have SA, Tonga & Scotland in their group so it might be tough to get top two 🤷♂️ but NZ or France if they get through 😬

I admire your optimism I know what you mean but I'd have thought he'd want to get the team/squad playing better at this stage. He's playing catch-up compared to France, Ireland, NZ, but hopefully we'll peak at the right time. 🤞

Murley, Hassall-Collins, Freeman and Arundell are too good to leave out for Nowell and May

On current form I'd put NZ v Ire 60%-40% in NZ's favour but that's only tilted by NZ's past reputation and the 'don't write them off' factor.

England are so pedestrian.
Imagine if we actually had backs that could start in their own 22 and ten seconds later go over for a try, instead of crash, bang, wallop over and over.

So bored of supporting teams that are conservative and boring.
Or is today part of Eddie's masterplan? 😉

To be fair on home soil France may have an edge but Ireland are not the No 1 Ranked team in the World for nothing On the last 10 times Ireland played France they have won 6 times including at a World Cup I think however Ireland have the edge over New Zealand having beaten them 3 times out of 4 in the last year including a Test Series Win in New Zealand. The first by a Northern Hemisphere Team since Jesus was a Boy

Eddie says "we're building a really good base to have a really good go at the World Cup". If the past year is anything to go by he's still got a lot more building to do. I think he's completely lost the plot and is using his usual bluster/bullshit to cover up the glaring problems. We're a shambles and he doesn't seem to know how to fix it.
He needs to go.
