New Zealand 16 England 15. Quite frustrating as I don't think NZ were very good by their standards. England turned the ball over too much at the breakdown and Marcus Smith didn't have a great day with the boot. I think NZ will play a lot better next week so a chance missed. We’ll never have a better chance to beat the All Blacks in their own back yard after they’ve had an 8 month break with players retiring/missing for various reasons……

Closer result than I'd anticipated but as has been said NZ will be much better next game. Probably as good as it gets for England today. We're so far away from being a top team and I just can't see any short, medium or long term improvement happening under Borthwick.

Thought we were well in the contest but lost discipline and composure in the final 20 minutes. Lots to be positive about though.

Another frustrating narrow defeat. I think NZ just had a bit more quality to bring off the bench, particularly Beauden Barrett. After scoring two trys from kicks, we probably overused that tactic in the second half. However I do think we look a much better team than we did a year ago so hopefully we can continue to progress.

I haven't seen the game as I forgot it was on. Frustrating to lose narrowly again. I'm not a fan of Borthwick at all but two narrow defeats in NZ does show some degree of progress I suppose, but I still remain to be convinced.

Thought we were better this week, were dominating possession and territory for a good 20 minutes in the second half and came away with nothing. That's what ultimately cost us today I think.

What's been going on in the rugby world? Just been having a scan through the southern version of the six nations (I forget what it's actually called) to see that South Africa are steam rolling everyone, but more shockingly I've seen that Argentina have beat New Zealand, in New Zealand, and they've also just battered the Aussies by a record breaking defeat margin for the Aussies. What's going on? Have the Argies become really good or have the Aussies, and to a lesser extent, New Zealand become really bad?

New Zealand haven't played bad rugby but have been out-fought by the Boks & they've found a way to win every time. The All Blacks loss to the Argies was a shock but the Argies have vastly improved, NZ did smash them the week after though. Australia are an absolute shadow of what they once were. They're in a transitional stage ahead of the 2027 WC on home soil but I fear the Lions will whitewash them next year. NZ will beat Aus back-to-back in the coming weeks. South Africa will beat Argentina on home soil comfortably but it's the Boks trip to Argentina that will be a great watch, hope they do a job on them.

South Africa were beating the Argies 0-17. Argies pulled it back to 19-17.
Less than half an hour in, could be a great watch.

England need to get better at closing out matches. Three times this year we have had a good chance to beat New Zealand and lost every time. Yesterday the game turned away from us when the substitutes came on. We seemed to lack quality off the bench particularly in the front row and not enough penetration in the backs.

Unbelievably poor defence but a cracking game nonetheless.

Can we do it? Be monumental to beat these here after the last couple of games.

I've been saying this for a loooooong old time now, Itoje is so unbelievably overrated. He's the softest "big man" I've ever seen on a Rugby field. He gets knocked back in contact like he's a 10 stone scrumhalf.

We should have gone for the posts for that first penalty after the yellow and then piled the pressure on

If the figures are correct I've just seen Borthwick has to go 15 losses out of 25 appalling, the defence coach go also worst defence in world rugby. Last 7 six defeats only beating Japan.
