Tremendous performance by Ireland tonight. To win 17-38 in France shows just how good they are. They must be favourites to win the Six Nations after just one game.

Great performance from Ireland but it must make it all the more frustrating for them that they failed at the World Cup.

Can’t see Italy keeping this up for 80 minutes but be good if they can keep being competitive across the series.

England finally managed the win after a better second half performance but my goodness we seem to be playing a different sport compared to Ireland and France. Wasn't convinced Borthwick was the right manager when he was appointed and he still doesn't fill me with much hope or confidence.

All three games were good this weekend. England, as so often under Borthwick, did just enough to win without looking totally convincing. I thought some of their new players looked good though.

Pretty certain it was a try, but according to the laws pretty certain is not good enough, and the ON FIELD decision stands. Had the ref given it though, and TMO could not say it was definitely NOT, then the try would stand. Always when not 100% clear cut the refs decision stands. Seeing the sweaties in tears is always a bonus though...

I was shocked the TMO said he could see the ball grounded and that the Ref needed to change his decision and then proceeded to talk himself out of it its unbelievable everyone could see under the arm the ball grounded.

Well that's the first time I've seen a conversion fail like that.

Better second half performance and we just managed to hold on for a win, but I'm still not convinced about Borthwick. That's probably it as far as wins go this year with us still having to play France, Ireland and Scotland.

Didn't see either match yesterday, are any of them worth watching on replay? England's sounded dull as ditchwater.

IMO England were very poor first half, better in the second, but overall 6/10 ish. Always good to see us beat the Welsh though I didn't see that much of the Scot-Fra game tbh.

Ireland will demolish England by 40pts the defence is wide open with the new approach and better teams will walk through us. I'm not convinced by Borthwick long term, as for watching replys from yesterday both were boring as hell and so devoid of "rugby" it was startling and I wouldn't watch either highlight show.

Kicking should be banned with the exception of kick-offs.
Sod the conversions off and penalty kicks at goals and the sport could be almost watchable.

Did Ireland actually break sweat today against Italy ? A comfortable 36-0 win, although I thought it would be much more before the game.
