From what I understand they are completely different types of player - Smallbone is central attacking mid and Celina is more wide mid/winger. More of a replacement for Fosu. Get rid of Smallbone and we need someone else and to be honest it's way more likely we'll get rid of Powell given Neil's preferences for that position and Powell's injury record. Listening to what Celina says he certainly sees himself as a no10 type. Fair enough but his profile on this site www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bersant-celina/profil/spieler/229695 still has him down as a left winger and attacking mid as an alternative. Good to have options but Neil seems to like Smallbone so I don't see it as signaling the end of his loan especially with Powell's ongoing injury issues.

I acknowledged that they both spoke good English. Merely pointing out they have something in common which may well encourage camaraderie, but hey ho... Sarks is a Montenegrin isn’t he? Correct. A lot of people in Montenegro speak Albanian.

Where's he play: Five seasons as an left sided/wide, inverted attacking mid, frequently popping up in the half space channel, two more as a touchline hugging winger. As a goalscorer: 84% right footed, zero threat in the air, 0.17 non penalty xG per 90 in the Championship (8145 minutes). Smallbone's running at 0.08, Powell in the Championship is 0.32. Averaged 5 free kicks a season, so mostly open play attempts. Likes a shot from range, so lots of low grade efforts. Here's his shot map. (Waste's a lot of possession with poor quality shots?) Attachment DeletedCreativity: Around 0.17 expected assists per 90. Isn't too reliant on dead balls, 75% of his expected assists in the Champ were from open play. (compare Baker who runs at around 50/50). As a creator an upgrade on Smallbone, slight downgrade on a fit Powell. Last played in the Championship in 19/20.

Is he here? Can he be involved on Sunday????
I love getting my hopes up on a new signing I have never heard of, and imagining him to be brilliant and score every week, like free kicks and everything from outside the box.
Gooo aaarrrn Celina my son!!!

Smallbone has played 25x for us, of which maybe two have been good performances. Powell is never fit, so he’s a waste of a wage. If Smallbone went back, I wouldn’t be bothered by it. That said, if this guy can play well 1 in 10 games, Smallbone can play well 1 in 12 and Powell could be fit for 3 or so games before the end of the season, it may be just enough to keep us up 😂

wonder why this hasn't been announced yet, do you think we're waiting to do a one-two with Harry leaving announcement followed up quickly with a signing?

Would be an interesting signing.
Graham Potter paid 3 million quid to take him to Swansea, so he must have ability.

He’s been made to play a deeper role that’s more concerned with covering ground and closing down space than creating chances. For me that’s a shame as on the occasions he’s been allowed to play a more attacking role he’s had his best games.

While he did get a neat side foot finish versus Reading, what does he offer creatively? He played more advanced there and didn’t create anything for others.

He's not very ambitious on the ball(Smallbone). I thought AN preferred that in favouring him over Powell when Powell was fit. Now he's signing this Celina(who's known for being quite flambouyant and giving away possession more than less ambitious players) I'm not sure what to think. Nick is more creative and better physically than either of them.

www.dfco.fr/bersant-celina-en-pret-a-stoke-city/The DFCO announces the termination of Bersant Celina's loan with Turkish club Kasımpaşa SK. The Kosovar midfielder is on a new loan, with an option to buy, at Stoke City. Recruited from Swansea City in September 2020 and under contract until 2024, Bersant Celina will continue his career at Stoke City, 18th in the Championship, after playing at Kasımpaşa SK during the first part of the season. The Kosovar international, performing with Kasımpaşa SK, will be responsible for helping to maintain Stoke City in the Championship during his six-month loan, with an option to buy. Good luck for this new challenge.

Great stuff. Can’t beat having a player with a bit of flair signing. On his day he looks top notch.
