Aye, taking the money over playing the game. Some might see that as cowardice but fair play, he’s not bothered about playing and is thinking about his bank balance. See that word "cowardice" and "coward" bandied around on here a lot, and it's use is absolute bollocks in my opinion. Whatever career path he chooses, it won't be through being a coward. Whatever managerial decision a manager makes won't be through being a coward. Fucking winds me up. Cowardice is a trait wherein excessive fear prevents an individual from taking a risk or facing danger. It is the opposite of courage. Maybe I should have used the word Greedy instead? Why do you think he’s gone where he’s gone? Is it to play football?

He played around 17 games in a season for them at least though Purely by fluke - he was NEVER 1st choice and knew that when he signed. The same could happen to Butland? Aye maybe. If Henderson stays it won’t, if De Gea goes then maybe?

That's total nonsense, Begovic went to Chelsea expecting, rightly, to challenge for the #1 spot. Against Courtois? I think Bego knew he was unlikely to play much Fair play he got more games than was probably expected Not at all, he backed himself to get the shirt and fair play to him for it, he was on Courtois’ level then. He didn’t go there just to be a #2 and that was understood between them at the time

Chelsea thought so too because they agreed that he'd be battling for the #1 shirt with a still-young Courtois. Many if not most Stoke fans expected him to unseat Courtois when he went, as did he, and justifiably so.

I thought he was really unfortunate in the sense that he had a good run of games for Chelsea just after signing but during the Mourinho physio implosion where I think we ended up finishing above them after beating them twice in a week. He seemed to be tainted by his association with that spell. Courtois was really shaky when he came back in and I thought he was lucky to keep his spot.

I'm not sure to be honest, there could and probably are loads of reasons why he's chosen to sign a contract with the biggest football club in Britain...... The prestige of hopefully one day saying he's played for Man Utd. The money, obviously, it's his job. Backing himself and believing he has a chance of becoming at least the No.2 there. Ten Haag and his coaches actually see something in him and have persuaded him to sign. Family/Lifestyle in wherever he chooses to live. He has a coach he loves working with who is rebuilding his shattered confidence. There could be other factors involved, and I'm not stupid enough to think that money isn't the main driving factor but why shouldn't it be? One thing I do know, is that whatever his reasons behind his decision are, none of them make him a coward.

I don't think anyone can blame him for following the money instead of playing at this stage of his career.
He was robbed of his England career and chance to play as no.1 for a top level club by that injury.
I'd milk it for every penny I could get in that instance.

Some players are desperate to play more football, others seem to fall out of love with it and see it as a way to safeguard their future and the future of their children. He’s only 30 years old, why bother retiring?

He’s not good enough to play at the top level as a number 1 anymore imo so this is probably as good a deal as he could get. Fair enough.

He should win trophies at Rangers. I’m sure that Hart was happy with his career resurrection in that regard.
