Such a fart-sniffing post lee. We get it mate, you're far too civilised, logical and intelligent for such nonsense...in reality I just don't think you're bright enough to realise that hate is the same as a lot of harmful things. It's fun in moderation. 'Hate' in any form is a dangerously thin line to tread. Agree completely. It's why it's best avoided completely; it's the hardest of drugs. It'll get your rocks off in the short-term, but become addicted/dependent and it will rot your soul faster than smack. I know it far more than I'd care to admit. FWIW I don't "hate" vale, but "I strongly dislike them but stop short at wishing true meaningful ill on them" isn't quite as snappy as a 1 syllable word.

I’m convinced if O’Neill is still here for pre-season we’ll be relegated. Consequently there is a genuine danger Vale could stay up next season and end up playing us the year after. Or they might get promoted again and us remain. Can’t see the problem my favourite season we were in the same division. We were champions and Bolton pipped them for second after beating us 1-0 at their place. Quite. Tbe whole point of rivalry is you're actually - er - rivals. Seems from some of the posts on here people don't want rivalry at all and get off more on running scared.

Yes but we're better than that though aren't we? It's not a competition to see who's the most small minded. Each to their own mate but not for me Yeah well - IMHO there's more in football to get get worked up about than local club with local owners have a modicum of success. Fans who don't even support their local team for a start 😜

If we get relegated next season, will some Stoke fans be happy to see Vale get promoted then?

Explain it to me. As far as I'm aware the only difference is there will be a couple of bigger matchdays in Burslem when they play Derby, Sheff Weds and Ipswich. But this will be counterbalanced by a bigger police presence, more traffic which the Burslem infrastructure struggles to cope with and a few more flowerbeds being trashed in Burslem Park. How is it actually 'benefitting the city'? Posted a link to an explanation further up bud Post it again 'bud'

This 'good for the city' bollocks- Stoke staying in the Premier or winning the FA Cup would've been 'good for the city'.
They lapped it up both times yet there are Stoke fans wishing them well? For shame.
Hope they go back down to where they belong

I find this totally bizarre... On a Stoke city forum there are so called Stoke city fans calling other Stoke fans knobheads etc etc just because they have a hatred for their local rivals! They just don't get it do they! I was actually referring to keyboard Vale fans who make it hard to wish them well. But we do also have plenty of knobheads too.

I'm not going to fall out with you after all this time - least of all over the fortunes of a club neither of us support. I guess the bottom line is football probably plays more of a part in your life than it does mine which colours our respective views - and that's fine - as you said above - we're all different. S

There's both ends of extremes on here, the side gushing like a quim and the side that have got some fucking childish chip on their shoulder. Grown men that should know better. Even some dickhead wishing death on people I grew up in the late 80's and 90's. Part of my family Stoke, part Vale. Equal ribbing on both ends. But the level of fucking neanderthal knuckle dragging on here- proper small minded pond life stuff. Quite agree with this. Let's hope they go out of the league pretty soon, and turn part time, then we can knock this nonsense on the head for good...

Yep, exactly this, Vale could be a division above us as soon as August next year, if that thought doesn't trouble you then you either don't care or you've lost all grip on reality. Do you think that will realistically happen, Gods? My money will be on Karen Matthews being voted Britain's best Mum before that happens Honestly I think swapping divisions unlikely, ending up in the same division highly possible.

Honestly I think swapping divisions unlikely, ending up in the same division highly possible. So you're tipping us for relegation next season then? Really? Why not, we've done it before, I think it is less likely that it is likely so in that regard I'm not predicting it but clearly its possible, just as the other way in which this could happen, Vale coming up is less likely than it is likely but equally and again clearly it is possible. It would only take 1 of 2 unlikely things to happen for us to finish up in the same division. So clearly as I said above it is highly possible, I'm not predicting it but once again it is highly possible, that much is undeniable. You'd have to be walking round with your finger stuck up your arse not to recognise this is a possibility!

My money will be on Karen Matthews being voted Britain's best Mum before that happens Honestly I think swapping divisions unlikely, ending up in the same division highly possible. I honestly don't get the thought process. If Vale get promoted they get promoted. If they get relegated they get relegated. None of that has got anything to do with us. If we haven't got enough of our own incentive to try and get ourselves promoted or avoid relegation without having to worry about avoiding the Vale then we fundamently need to question what we're about. I'm happy to congratulate Vale for their promotion but I actually don't really care what division they're in. They're not a benchmark. It's what we do that matters. Not them.
