No, I don't, but I really can't see Port Vale as competition for us in any way at the moment. They were for a good 10 years, to put it mildly the day that happens again will be a very sorry day for the city of Stoke on Trent. 17k there today following vale, and not a full set of teeth between them, funking rancid cunts. Teeth like a chieftain's necklace the lot of them

I'm 85 years old and a Stoke fan for 74 years. Whatever success Vale have had is their good fortune. As long as they've been below us, or lost to us when they're played us it's been no problem to me. They're a local team whom I will always support against teams outside our area. They've got a decent local owner and a fair enough manager, and they also have a lot of decent fans. I'm not a Vale FAN, but neither do I hate them or wish them harm, just hope that they never get above us in the leagues. It's beginning to get nasty now. At one time, a long time ago, we had friendly rivalry but now we see almost pure hatred. It's football for Gods sake, not war.

The benefits to the Wrights Pies from your visits over the years was Derby's loss. I don’t think I’ve ever had a pie at Stoke🤣the odd cheeseburger now and again

So you're tipping us for relegation next season then? Really? Why not, we've done it before, I think it is less likely that it is likely so in that regard I'm not predicting it but clearly its possible, just as the other way in which this could happen, Vale coming up is less likely than it is likely but equally and again clearly it is possible. It would only take 1 of 2 unlikely things to happen for us to finish up in the same division. So clearly as I said above it is highly possible, I'm not predicting it but once again it is highly possible, that much is undeniable. You'd have to be walking round with your finger stuck up your arse not to recognise this is a possibility! It's possible we'll be above say Crystal Palace in the same time frame. So what?

Couldn’t care less about the Vale or their fans, but what a bloke their manager is! Hats off to him, must take some strength to even think straight, let alone be the main man who everyone looks to! Absolutely. I didn’t really care about whether Vale won or lost today but I absolutely wanted Darell Clarke to win. He’s a legend down here with Rovers fans anyway but what he’s had to deal with is the worst thing possible for any parent, he’s a top top bloke. BM

Indeed it is, but we don't share a house with Crystal Palace Is a very very unlikely scenario and not going to worry about it in any way 😁 Would be quite happy for sides of that quality on show today to be in our division actually.

Liverpool winning the champions league tonight will be absolutely fantastic for the city of Liverpool ( not a promotion from league 2 to league 1 ) but do you think Everton fans are cheering them on? You need to give your head a fucking wobble

I don't take a lot of joy from watching Vale win but it's very, very hard to begrudge their owner or manager their success on a personal level.

No ta bud, can't be arsed. Post the link if was that interesting. Bud. Already did twice. Can’t be arsed? then don’t worry 😂 Just seen it. It's that bollocks about Sunderland and in no way comparable with a minor team in our city. As other people have pointed out

I don't take a lot of joy from watching Vale win but it's very, very hard to begrudge their owner or manager their success on a personal level. This echos my thoughts exactly when I caught parts of the game earlier. Thought Carol spoke very well afterwards aswell. A local owner and someone who clearly has a passion for her role & more importantly a plan, and isn't afraid to implement changes and make decisions with conviction to achieve their aims. "We don't win & lose, we win & learn" was an interesting quote she used aswell, a pity our owners don't appear to adhere to this principle over the last 5years! Seems like Vale are on the up with a plan in motion, I fear we've stagnated somewhat & just hope that the patience the Coates have shown in the current management regime starts to bear fruit in 22-23.. Was nice see Dean Whitehead having an active role on the touchline aswell, one of the players mentioned him in high esteem when describing how him and Andy Crosby were steering the ship when Clarke was away.. As others have said, so long as Vale are below us in the league pyramid I don't really care what they're up to. But after the awful period Darrell Clarkes had I certainly don't begrudge him his moment of brief happiness he's had this afternoon. Vale were by far the better team on the day & deserve their promotion.

The best policy, as always is to ignore the Vale. Concentrate on us. All this gives them far too much credibility.

Honestly I think swapping divisions unlikely, ending up in the same division highly possible. I honestly don't get the thought process. If Vale get promoted they get promoted. If they get relegated they get relegated. None of that has got anything to do with us. If we haven't got enough of our own incentive to try and get ourselves promoted or avoid relegation without having to worry about avoiding the Vale then we fundamently need to question what we're about. I'm happy to congratulate Vale for their promotion but I actually don't really care what division they're in. They're not a benchmark. It's what we do that matters. Not them.

Just think of all those c***S who run down the potteries, take the piss out of how we talk, of how we use the word “duck” etc in talking about people from fairly close by geographically eg Betley, Whitmore, Eccleshall….. FFS even Leek people call us ‘clay heads’ like we’re a sub-species, god even people from Newcastle-under-Lyme think we’re below them!!! So if something happens which lifts the spirits and esteem of Stoke-on-Trent residents then I’m all for it and I don’t partic care what a few haters, tribalists and naysayers think
