Always found it amazing that players can bite, head butt, punch etc etc other players on the pitch and never face criminal cases. Didn’t Frank Macavenie sue a player. Was it Kamara? Never heard of a criminal case involving football league clubs. McAvennie talked about suing him but West Ham talked him out of it as the footage clearly showed it was a nothing challenge Kamara did lose in court for breaking a Shrewsbury players jaw following a racist jibe

I really don't get stoke fans who praise vale you wouldn't see a Millwall fan praising West ham hope Mansfield beat them at wembley my word they are an unbearable lot! It’s local people who can remember going to watch Vale as well as Stoke when they were perennially in the 4th div and Stoke In the 1st so it didn’t manifest as any sort of rivalry.....or those whose dads and grandads always liked to see both the Potteries clubs do well.........or indeed, actually supported Vale primarily......

Really chuffed for ‘em. They’ll be forever in our shadow, but for once Vale are not the Fail. Hope they go all the way and get promoted. Which makes it even more of a shame to see some of their fans throwing punches at Swindon players who showed no malice towards fans at any point during both games. Why do that?! Must be an in-bred Burslem thing. We would do the same, look at our last game with the flares, bottles coins and the rest we all have our dickheads.

Ooommmpphhh!
That was a tough one to take. A straight kick in the balls.
I have an uncomfortable feeling Vale will go all the way now.
Nothing you can do, just have to carry on.

Not justifying punching players but the way the Swindon players were staying on the pitch to remonstrate and challenge the Vale fans was beyond Moronic.

Disgraceful way to celebrate your team winning by violence against the opposition players & Manager (Everton Palace).
Unfortunately nowadays coming to a match just with alcohol in your system is not the case anymore, it be interesting if anyone was apprehended tonight if they had any cocaine or other drugs in their system?
I get fans are emotionally charged but surely with a rational manner. Massive risk to the club and surely disqualification from the competition or docked points is a possible solution?

Went through court recently, can't really think of any players as its normally career ending injuries that get settled by insurers.

If they attacked opposition players then it has to be a points deduction. Nah. They’re scousers. They are completely unaccountable for anything they do. It will be someone else’s fault 😂

The Vale manager and the Vale fans commit the exact same crime (and both are a crime) yet one will get a slap on the wrist and one will get a long ban. A long ban is totally correct but why should the manager get away with it?

Fraid that might be true. My dad would've had no comprehension of the bile that is spouted on here regarding Vale, and also no doubt on the Vale site (which I've never visited). And I'm the same. First game down Stoke was in 1951. Only went to Vale for cup games which were often tremendous. I don't understand why people can't distinguish between the club and the fans. I don't give a shit what their fans think or say about us. But I do want the club itself to succeed because it's a Potteries club.
