Quite a few decent ones have gone. Laird's gone to QPR on loan, and Kesler-Hayden played against us today after signing from Villa yesterday The one that seems to be linked with a Champ move is the England u19 RWB from Arsenal. Don't know whether we could nip in there, but sounds like he's got something already sorted. theathletic.com/3473887/2022/08/12/brooke-norton-cuffy-arsenal-contract/Arsenal prospect Brooke Norton-Cuffy has signed a new contract with the North London club. The 18-year-old right-back had entered the final 12 months of his previous deal and was attracting interest from numerous suitors. However, The Athletic revealed on Monday that the highly-rated England youth international was set to extend his stay and is expected to join a Championship club on loan for the 2022-23 campaign. And Fossey, the young Fulham player seems to be still available too. www.lancs.live/sport/football/transfer-news/preston-transfers-arsenal-man-united-24738371Preston seem to be in desperate need of a RWB too, so wouldn't be surprised if it was them lining up the Arse player Wouldn’t it be easier to go to a back 4 and play Wilmott at RB.

Club is cursed. Could we get a gypsy to do a ritual, like Birmingham did in the 90s? Barry Fry pissed in all four corners of the pitch. Jon Parkin would’ve done that on a Wednesday night.

Maybe, but he seems very attached to the back 3 - as does Holden. They're not for turning, it seems. And he's still all-in on getting Delap (which would make 4 strikers) and Clarke (which would add to our army of centre-backs). Tymon and McCarron are very wing-backy too . And we'd lack anyone to play wide on the left So hard to see an injury to Harry Clarke being what prompts a screeching u-turn

I just don’t get there method of thinking. It really does feel like a mess and that they’re making it up as they go along.

What was the point in Kilkenny?
Laurent and Baker will always start when fit and in reasonable form, Thompson will be on standby and somehow for some god forsaken reason, Clucas has wormed his way back in to contention.

Behave, he was very fortunate tymon didn’t get injured for a long spell last season otherwise it would have been the same situation Like I say he was an idiot for doing it, he should have had someone in as backup, it's why I called him an idiot. Ah sorry I misread 😂

Also isn't McCarron a winger that's being pushed back a little rather than a fullback being pushed on?

Cyrus Christie is still without a club isn’t he? Decent player but has he had a pre season? We need someone who’s raring to go with Clarke out. I asked this a week or so ago, but what’s the situation with James Bree’s contract at Luton? Was due to expire at the end of June, but haven’t seen any news about an extension. He has played for Luton this season, so don’t know whether he signed or whether he’s on a pay-as-you-play. If he’s available, he’d be a superb wing back.

Whether it’s MON, Dyche or Uncle Tom Cobley in charge we have to bring a keeper in, we have a goalkeeper that doesn’t make saves. I’ve watched their first goal about ten times now and honestly I’m flabbergasted……

Cooper is like a kid in a candy shop, I’m actually surprised after finishing the season so strongly they’ve bought in so many players. I can see it ending badly…….

It was like he was shocked there was a ball coming straight at him at pace and he was doing his best to ensure he didn’t get hit.

Forrest taking the piss now, three years for Kouyate who was released and is 32.
Lots of players who will be 'too big for the championship' if they go down too. Their fans can keep them up, like ours did in our first season.

I’ve watched their first goal about ten times now and honestly I’m flabbergasted…… I've been saying this for months... Feel vindicated versus the Bursik can do no wrong crowd. He's absolute gash personified. People have been lying to themselves because some idiot thought he was England level. He isn't. First game two weeks today. Who’d have thought our transfer business would consist of 4 signings, 3 of which can be considered suspect to the say the least. What have we got in store for the next two weeks I wonder. I'd kill for a PL level goalkeeper and championship level defender or another decent forward for this squad. It's close but not good enough in the sticks and up top.

I’ve watched their first goal about ten times now and honestly I’m flabbergasted…… I was right in line with it, quite low down and was furious at the game. Wasn't exactly high speed and the ball was exactly where a keeper would want it in a perfect scenario. He couldn't have wished for an easier save.

Can Gayle not play left side? Also isn't McCarron a winger that's being pushed back a little rather than a fullback being pushed on? Yes he can. You play Gayle left, Tyrese right and Ikpeazu in the middle. It'd be a waste of Gayle though, Gary - and clearly not what he was bought for. He's never really played there regularly. McCarron seems Tymony in as much as he's not the type to play and be a goal threat in a front 3. Going in big for a left-sided player at this stage seems very unlikely, with us needing the loan spots elsewhere. Whether Brown or Campbell could do a job there I don't know. They're both better on the right. And your mate Ikpeazu has signed for a Turkish team We're obviously sticking with the 3 though, so it's all probably moot. It's only natural for the Delap hope to be slipping away now though and bad results in the next 2 games could really make it unlikely - so don't know what the plan is if he doesn't come

We're now in silly season where all sorts of strange and abstract things get suggested that will never happen. I am, therefore, going to say that without the big lump centre forward we require, he could do a lot worse than play Flint up front.

How much are Forest spending? Must be approaching £150m now with Maupay and the Watford player -plus this one.
And must be getting towards high teens in terms of incomings.

Bloody hell Forest. They were going to struggle massively regardless, and most of these signings seems like ones that will only make it worse. You can’t imagine the dressing room being a good one, signing this many players. Seems very much like sign whatever we can to pad the squad out.

They're perhaps a bit like us in 2008. They just need bodies through the door of something nearing PL quality. Even then, we ended up with Pericard and Cresswell starting up front together away at Blackburn.

Asked about the club's hunt for a new striker, and whether one might be recruited for Wednesday's home clash against Cardiff, Bruce replied: "Erm, ask me in a couple of days!
"I'm hopeful, we're hopeful.
"We're trying, we're having to because the club has been unfortunate. We've got two big number 9s who have had a series of awful injuries which has been difficult. Especially the one to Dike."
Interesting who Bruce is going to get as his No.9 replacement.
There's only really Grabban available as a free. And he's not really that type. Hopefully not Delap on loan...
