You don’t think that’s underachieving with what he spent? With what he spent? 🤔 “Since Klopp arrived in October 2015, Liverpool's net spend sits at £346 million, the lowest of the 'big six' but with the second-most major trophies (seven). Man City, who face 115 breaches of Premier League financial regulations, have won 15 trophies in the same amount of time but with a net spend of £630”

His cowardice has cost us tournaments. Whatever you feelings about Southgate's performance your use of the word cowardice is tedious and actually offensive. 🤣🤣

Teams have come up from the championship and spent more.

We are getting worse. I support the calls to sack Southgate tonight. A new manager bounce might get us through the next round and perhaps to the final. There are no realistic calls to sack him and there’s more chance of sunak winning every seat next Thursday and appointing you as chancellor of the exchequer while being filmed shagging Angela Rayner than Southgate being sacked

Palmer can do it on both sides. The current problem with Foden is he's best in the 10. Get him in the 10 and Bellingham in the 8 and Palmer, Saka and Gordon can do the wings either side without huge problems. Palmer’s a number 10 not a wide player….. Pep played him wide almost every time and he's proved he can play wide at Chelsea. And he's been one of the most comfortable in possession playing wide for England when he's come on. He can play wide.

Well he needs to play smarter than he did tonight then, he gave the ball away 8 times. Sometimes you have to recycle the ball or find or an overload rather than a key defence splitting pass. He hardly started a game under Guardiola and played in various positions.....

That was a bloody tough watch. Infuriating at times again.
It's really difficult to get your head around. These players play scintillating, high octane stuff on a regular basis for their clubs. What on earth is going on in this tournament? For all the criticism Southgate is getting, the players have a responsibility to perform better than they are.
Having said that, it's a results business and no matter how it played out, we're through. That mental was up there with some of the very best.
God knows what Saturday holds. Switzerland are a very good side. No doubt another nail biter. In it to win it, I suppose.

What about Saka at wing back? As I suggested weeks ago ... Like Saka as a player but he has become a one trick pony.. Him on lwb and trent on right would be devastating.. Palmer pulling the strings. When Saka went to left back, LWB all he did was turn and pass back. That must be down to the coach. We had him RWB and Eze LWB for extra time, a 541 formation! Flashbacks to Graham Taylor! 😳 We got the win but it was awful but great we did. Oooh Gareth, you are awful but..... 😄

Palmer was giving us space and forward momentum. He is much better option than Foden .. Say what you like but my strategy and team pick will win the next game.

Dear Gareth. You've got away with one there.
Please, for fuck's sake, give your head a wobble and just understand that if you don't change it up, we'll not beat Switzerland, or go any further in this tournament. We've been given an unbelievable opportunity to get to at least the Semi Finals, by virtue of the draw.
Stubbornness can easily morph into stupidity. Sort it, or be remembered as the nearly-man.

We'll lose the next one if not for a much, much improved performance. Southgate era is coming to an end regardless of this tournament. 100th game next Saturday, 60% win record. Semi, final, quarter and now another quarter. Not bad by any stretch.

What’s going on with Walker?! Woeful so far. He is so used to being faster than anybody else that he's forgotten all about good positioning so when he plays against someone he can't beat for speed he's done.

He can beat most players for speed still. I think he just doesn’t know what the plan is like the rest of the team. And if you don’t know the plan when you play in a side that will be drilled to within an inch of its life then you’re going to be hampered. Does he stay? Does he go? He doesn’t know. Southgate doesn’t know.

But now like all football managers he has reached his best before date.

That was that ghai with his shit original error At least he got close enough to challenge, anyone can be beaten in a challenge which happened. Can anyone tell me what Stones was doing? Watched Guehi lose the challenge but didn't bother to pick up the runner?

Southgate has been a pretty lucky manager for England. For the most part we’ve not drawn the better teams early in tournaments, and partly as a result of that we’ve got a good record under him. Saying that, I don’t think he’s the man to actually win anything major (not just with England, but as a manager). He doesn’t have the tactical knowledge or the bravery to turn opportunity into success. He’s not a leader and I don’t think he’s ever been one to be honest. I think we’ll either lose to the Swiss or scrape through with another shit performance but if and when we come up against a good side, we’ll go out with a whimper
