If we're saying two games trump a long period of strong form in a top side then it's pretty mad, surely? Of course it doesn't but Tomori hasn't been as good this season as last season, McGuire has been rubbish but has two good tournaments under his belt Not saying McGuire should definitely go instead of Tomori just saying it's not a stark/mad decision, not that much in it I'm not saying it's a mad decision not to take Tomori, I'm saying it's a mad decision to not take Tomori based on two games.

To be fair Toxic not 2 games if watched him this season. He looks more confused than Hyaduck watching The Krypton Factor trying to defend. He really isn't very good. I think the whole....he plays in Italy thing has got to many without watching him play.

No just that tgey were an opportunity not taken Given the lack of quality in our central defenders these things add up Maybe the next England manager will give Tomori a go or maybe other players like Dunk Suspect whoever it is will turn to the same players as Southgate in the main

Still think winning the league in Italy is a tough gig though and he was worth a look. As said, don't have a problem with him not going if he's not in form, it was the suggestion that he wasn't going on the strength of two dodgy games that I struck me as a poor show. Southgate seems weirdly Richard Keys about other leagues, though he's finally warming up to Bellingham at least.

If Walker isn't fit though our back line looks fairly one paced. Shouldn't be an issue in the groups but likely to be after that.

I think he's a decent enough player and gets unfair stick. Sancho I really don't and never did get the fuss over. Makes Nathan Redmond look top quality in that position. Another player with a reputation abroad and massive price tag that had him hailed as this new top class player but performed in Germany v some ok opposition. Had moments but see nothing about him and rightly dropped .

Form had improved under Conte but seems to have dipped again. Southgate bringing him on against Colombia nearly cost us the game he was that bad and then his pen won it.

I think Walker dictates whether we play wing backs or back 4 Can't see a back 3 without Walker in it myself He might go with a back 4 for the group games anyway Sterling being absolutely out of form really concerns me

Rashford and Foden either side of Kane. Rice, Bellingham and whoever in a midfield 3.

Dier was a David O'Leary moment in Genoa v Romania . Like the movie The Van I was one in the stadium saying ...who is letting him take one? Calm as you like. Wilson similar v Chelsea for us, never in doubt.

Have the players but not the manager when they meet quality opposition. I have them to play the Dutch quite early on and think could be curtains.

There’s literally zero proof they are. I’d certainly fancy us against them. We’re by no means world beaters at the mo bit their squad is shite (on paper at least)

It's bizarre that this starts on Saturday and hardly anyone appears to give much of a shit!
I guess it'll pick up once the matches start being shown and especially if England progress to the business end, but if they don't I wonder how many will lose interest quite rapidly. Probably quite a few. At the moment it just doesn't feel like it has the same degree of 'specialness' that a World Cup normally has.

Just done the old predictor just to see who's lined up to play who - and if it goes with the bookies (which it never does, obviously) the QFs look very tasty. But all it takes is one unexpected result, and the whole thing is turned on its head www.bein.com/predict/en/Last 16Netherlands-USA Argentina-Denmark England-Senegal France-Mexico Spain-Croatia Brazil-Uruguay Belgium-Germany Portugal-Switzerland Q-FNetherlands-Argentina England-France Spain-Brazil Germany-Portugal
