I agree but at the moment would see Dutch as clear faves. England hardly been impressing but what happens from Sunday is what matters I guess. Would see England as contenders with someone else in charge, well semis possibly . Can see this tournament being a disaster but might not be the worst thing in the long run but the FA with their appointments don't help. Just missed out on the ideal man for me in Emery

I must by my reckoning have survived 14 or 15 World Cups that I was aware of, and I have lost interest really. Mind you I seem to have even lost interest in Stoke recently so as I have little time for International football anyway, then England and their potential progress have little chance of attracting and holding my attention!

But listening to all the media hype and analysis, can anyone tell me if there is anybody else the pundits are allowed to talk about other than James Maddison, as he is the only England player that I have heard mention of so far!

if re England well I don't agree at all, would England score? yes probably
would Holland score, not so likely, I'd make England favourites re the Dutch > tbh would make any of the top ten or sides favourites v the Dutch for the same reason i.e. I cant see where their goals are coming from

having said that if Dutch get in front (against anyone not just England) can see them seeing out games 1.0, they do have a wiley manager

England have gone backwards in 2022, need some key players to recover form very quickly

anyway they may not play each other so it's moot

Emery as England manager? not sure about that, not sure how they have 'just missed out' seeing as the job hasn't been up since 2016

The media need an angle a story to talk about

atm Englands team & squad is very stable, there isn't really much to talk about

I say missed out as chances are the job will be available very soon as he's just taken the Villa job. Southgate has somehow managed to get club and country relegated in his 2 jobs and going into this tournament in terrible form. Surely you can see that although what happens in Qatar is what matters of course
