I don't think he (or Maja etc) were back on our radar anyway this time? been widely reported they both we're/are He held talk before last season ended.

If they have good runners, then he will do well. He needs players around him to pick up the slack and players in front of him to run the channels.
That’s a lot of needs to get the best out of someone. I’m glad we didn’t bother, though he is a decent player.

He had one or two good games and when he had the ball in dangerous areas he looked class, however he came across a bit lazy, never really tracked his runners and that unwillingness cost us points (Millwall away i think)
Good player but id be looking elsewhere

Nice footballer when you are controlling a game but absolute passenger when you're not.
I'm hoping missing out on him means he was never a first choice and we are confident of getting a better option in.

Let's face it if he was any good & a key component to a promotion hunting team West Brom would have wanted him and fought for him to stay, especially as he's a WBA fan anyway. Sure they'll have as much aspiration to gain promotion this season as we do if not more & they didn't see him as a player considered worthy of leading their promotion charge. Neither did they last season & I understand he quickly became the boo boy there as he failed to deliver on the hype he created when he signed for them. Did OK for us, quite good in spells and not so well other times. Certainly not a player I think we should lose sleep over going elsewhere.

Was he ever a boo-boy? I thought he was given very fair treatment given his (let's be honest) pretty limited contribution to the midfield effort.

With Stoke it was more the sarcastic moment he was awarded the MOM award during a game where he simply had no impact on the match. It was clear as day the reaction when it was announced to the crowd was gasps and sarcastic laughter. Remember thinking at the time that his family in the crowd would have felt quite uncomfortable with the reaction, it was certainly different to the normal applause and a definite wind up by the match sponsor voters that day which got the reaction it set out to do!

I think our disappointment with Sawyers is largely based on how we remembered him from his impressive Brentford performances. Not sure how or why he seems to have 'lost it" so completely both at West Brom and with us.

Not sure how or why he seems to have 'lost it" so completely both at West Brom and with us. Brentford are very good at finding players that fit their model hence why he was excellent for them. We just bring in players and try to fit them in. He was never the right player for us.

Yes get in. Don’t think I’ve ever not wanted us to sign somebody more maybe McLean running him a close second. You hid it so well.

Mentioned Parrot before, a player I think would suit us. After an average 18 months he's starting to look a player. Certainly won't get times at Spurs

A lot of the better prem loans won't be available yet either as their parent clubs will be assessing their squads before letting them leave. Benji will run out of knickers long before then.

We will have played 5 games by then so 10% of the season , i really don’t think O’Neil cam afford a very very slow start as the situation could just run away from him , it’s not imperative we start well but a Jones like start will surely see him in serious trouble

No doubt thought Benji with the Powell injury he'll be on it as we speak.

Powell's only got the odd good pass in him, albeit it may well be the decisive pass of the game, but he can also be very casual in his passing at times!!! He makes mistakes every player does, but he has more ability than anyone in the team!!!!! He’s one of the few Premier League player standard in the squad (when he’s fit). Reminds me a bit of Glen Hoddle in the passing department.
